Yes, Equihash is not as memory dependent as Ethash.

But as also Texacha mentioned few days ago, for example the Equihash 192,7 algorithm used by ZERO currency (ZER) requires much higher memory, (about 16 times higher) and CPU usage.
Because of this reason, as far as I know, ZERO could be mined with at least the 6Gb version of Nvidia GTX 1060 GPUs (and only on Linux). Some 4Gb AMD graphics cards are capable to mine, but not the 3Gb Nvidia ones (feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

I really hope that the new ZHash algo based on Equihash 144,5 will not require as high memory and CPU usage.

--------------------------
BitcoinZ: ASIC resistant coin with unique algorithm

Based on that..
Btw R9 fury is the best oldie cheap equihash sweeper! 400h/s

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

ZHash, hmmm I rather like that  Wink

I do too.  Someone mentioned re-branding btcz to just Z.  I like that as well.

Look how many "btc" alts there are, including beloved btcz.  I like renaming/rebranding.

BTCD, BTCG, BTCGS, BTCP, BTCR, BTCS, BTCS, BTCSP, BTCZ, DBTC, MBTC, WBTC

80% of nowaday cryptos will fall, 10% will run away rebranding each time and we Gonna Rule the last 10% who fight! BitcoinZ is Bitcoin 2.0 truly!

That's actually a good point.  The community support behind btcz is strong.  This is a marathon not a sprint.

Their gov banned privacy coins.
So now we trying with Bit-z top 10 exchange, but we meed +1btc (few hundred more $) to get on their vote page.
Please any of you are able, lets make BitcoinZ even greater and donate to our fund here:

Hello, I was extracting BTCZ and I will still dig. Some of us care about the popularity of this currency. However, in order for it to grow, we need developers who, like Verge, will find goods or services that you can pay for. We should have friendly faces that will speak favorably about us in the environment and the creators themselves, in my opinion, should show the faces on the official website as a team. We need good marketing and, consequently, enter larger stock exchanges. Regards

It requires you to pay a good amount of attention to the markets all the time. Buy and hold strategy with projects you deem high quality is rather how I work Smiley

Buy, hold, mine and trade.  Trade meaning have some bags ready for dump too. As it is today.

Sounds like a full time job, buy hold mine and trade Wink There are also people with a life (sadly) outside of crypto Sad

Hello Community!

Please take a look at the proposal of getting listed on Bit-Z exchange:

https://forum.btcz.rocks/t/bit-z-com-exchange-enter-voting-1btc-fundraising/424/3

We need to unite our forces to get this done. Without every one of us donating and voting as much as we can, we can't achieve greater goals.
Let's do this together and find a way to get BTCZ listed on Bit-Z.

Feel free to ask any questions and don't forget, BitoinZ will always be ASIC resistant.

The idea of this exchange is good however the voting process is much complicated and not quite clear for me. Getting 3rd party tokens and then voting is weird. However, maybe it is the way it goes. Anyway, it is easier to just pay 5 or 10 BTC and to be sure it is approved.

Due to their coin devs inaction in the face of asic takeover, gpu miners from other equihash-based coins, feeling betrayed, will flock to btcz. Am I correct?

Zcash announced they will put priority on making it ASIC resistant. Pretty sure most Equihash coins are going to fight against ASICs.

If you have seen info you should know you can’t claim it because there was no air drop etc.
You can just mine it or buy it.
And this isn’t bitcoin fork.
