Hi developers!

Please explain us what makes the ZHash algorithm unique face to the Equihash-BTG algorithm announced by the BTG team?
https://forum.bitcoingold.org/t/our-new-equihash-equihash-btg/1512

As far as I see both teams will change from Equihash <200,9> parameters to Equihash <144,5> variant, which significantly decreases the threat of ASIC miners.

But why are these 2 names and what is the difference between ZHash / Equihash-BTG? Thanks for your explanation!

so we increased the memory consumption and 10x the costs to make an ASIC. You guys just need to just leave the hashing algorithms to the experts.

Do do do. Don't believe the hype.

How much can a memory slot and optional mining software cost ?

You are playing around with a lot of peoples money here. Please don't talk down to them while wasting it.

To be honest. You don't know dickshit about the subject.

Throw some "shit" and see what sticks.

<INVALID OR WATCH-ONLY ADDRESS> !!! ?

BarterDEX and BitcoinZ wallet is "conflicting" with each other.

That give those entries in the BitcoinZ Windows wallet.

Tell me that is not true.

I will post some screenshot when the BTCZ wallet has finally loaded and i can get it done. It is somewhat the slowest piece of shit i have seen yet! And the pc goes WRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR while its on. Memory/cpu hog ?

Boong:

Dicks, dicks and more dicks. Keep up the good work and there will only be dicks in the end. He he. Get it ? Dicks in the end..

PS: I tried with an internal transfer on the wallet. It is not broke. It just look like it is.

Throw some "shit" and see what sticks.

BTG has changes to their headers as well as a different customization string from ZHash that makes it incompatible. The two projects also have no reason to make them compatible. We helped them get their miner working, so we know it's incompatible for now.

Yeah I'd support a 1-2% developer donation fee. Since I have 3 mining computers that would be 3-6%.
That's the most hillarious calculation I have ever seen. Cheesy

On a serious note: I just took a look at the vieo with the explanations. One thing that caught my eye was the 2.5 GB mem requirement. Does that mean that I cannot mine BTCZ on windows with my 1060 3GB card anymore?

Recalculate then Mr smart-ass.

Introducing ZHash, a new hashing algorithm with the goal of hardening the Equihash protocol to be more ASIC resistant. The ZHash algorithm works by increasing the hardware requirements of Equihash to make development of an ASIC appliance less viable. The goal of ZHash is to put GPU mining on a level playing field with ASICs and FPGAs as far as hashing rates and costs are concerned so that they do not get too much of an advantage.

On block 160,000 around June 15th ~ 16th BitcoinZ will fork to the ZHash algorithm to prevent ASIC miners on the network. Before the fork, all nodes and wallets should be updated to the latest version to help support the new algorithm.

List of things that have been released:

Still needed:
  • Optimized GPU miner for AMD
  • Testers

Let us know how you can help!

The ZHash algorithm is based on the Equihash 144,5 variant and was primarily based on the development of @tromp, The BitcoinZ project, and The ASIC Resistance consortium.

Good to know that the BitcoinZ developers are capable of helping for the BTG team  Wink
