hi i fitted in a non-reference 5870 asus a arctic extreme 5870 cooler.

the heatsinks did not fit in and i didn't put them.

my gpu runs at <75 and mem clock is 600mhz.

does anyone know what will happen to my vram and fets? melt? shouldn't they get cooled just by the 3 fans that blow directly on them?

I certainly wouldn't run any of my cards without heatsinks. My advice would be to put the stock cooler back on if your aftermarket one doesn't fit.

Or you might commit suicide:
1) Waiting the 2-3 weeks for RMA
2) Having the RMA rejected
3) smelling the vrm's burning.

Sounds sketchy if it doesn't fit right.

So don't keep the computer in your bedroom. Problem solved.

running the memory with no sinks is probably OK IF you underclock the memory (best way is in the BIOS) but you MUST have heatsinks on the VRMs.  they WILL cook themselves with no sink.
