I write for the first time on this Forum, so please be lenient towards me. Especially to my English.
When they talk about future money, for some reason "money of a new generation" is often added. What do these words mean "the new generation" as applied to money? How does the "old generation" differ from the "new" generation?
For example, in computers, the generation change is understandable, and in the field of money it is incomprehensible. Can someone intelligibly and intelligently explain to me the difference between generations of money?
I think that this question is actually much deeper and more interesting than it seems at first glance, because it gives us a deeper understanding of the very essence of money.

I think this new generation of digital currency has the potential to be by far the best currency the world has probably ever seen. It's fast, cheap, borderless, divisible and extremely fungable so it has all the ingredients to be a much better form of value transfer than all old generations

The "new money" means is a digital currency which have a more benefits and advantage compare to the old money. Okd money refers to the "paper money" or what we called the money country. The new money is fast and more accurate to the technology now but we know that not all people know about it. Old money is thr one they known for the many years

I will explain by giving you example. Your country money I believe you can only spend it in your country? your country money is not accepted world wide as a means of exchange. you cannot use your country money to travel to another country and use it to exchange for goods and services. Now your country money is the old generation of money. New generation of money is digital currency/cryptocurrencies let's take bitcoin for example. you can send bitcoin to anyone, anywhere in the world and the person will accept the bitcoin and it will translate to value.

If we noticed, about the new generation today, were highly on computerized systems, mostly percentage today were adapted on the new technology system which is computerized system, on different transactions. There are some people who uses credit cards instead of cash money, like also in digital cryptocurrency today, it becomes popular because of the new technology system, that a lots of people fan of accessing cryptocurrency as their main contribution of income. Because cryptocurrencies reflects as instrument to make money, with multiple of value when converted into money.

If you're talking about old money versus new money. It's a term often used to describe people who come from long-standing wealthy families = old money. New money are new entrepreuners who have just come into wealth (rags to riches stories) like bitcoin investors from 2010, startups that flew high, and lottery winners.

The reason why digital currency is called the new generation of money is because just like a physical money, we can use it to buy products and services. All of these are done using our mobile devices and the internet connection. So it is very convenient because we only have to carry a single device and not a bunch of physical money.

The old generations of money have limitations, for example. Philippine peso money cannot be use in USA because the money in the USA is in Dollars. So you need to exchange your Philippine peso to US Dollar. While on the new generation money like bitcoin, there is no limitations on how you will use it. You don't need to exchange it when you are in different country because bitcoin is universal.

The differences only on the physical form of money. We know that the traditional system still used the money that has been printed by the bankers and that can't be used to pay or paid someone that was so far from us.

The new generation of money doesn't have a physical form.
But I can say old or new that's the same, and it's money.

Thank you all for your answers.

What I want to note in this matter. I'm talking about money and only about them, so the answers that any money is good or doen`t matter what kind of generation they are, do not answer my question. For example, all computers in principle do the same job, however we distinguish different generations of computers according to their technical capabilities. Nobody will say that old computers are worse than Solid-state drives (SSDs), because for their time they were the most technologically advanced. But time has passed, and today old computers are either thrown into the trash, or put into the museum.

So if you consider paper money as old, and all the crypto-currencies as new, then this is also an incorrect answer, since the question is only about digital crypto-currencies. Why do they write that they are "the money of a new generation" when issuing some altcoins, and other altcoins
say nothing about it?

What is the meaning of generations in digital crypto-currencies?

Look: when I read a description of a particular crypto currency, I always meet this phrase "our crypt is money of a new generation". That's why I decided to ask the community what is the point of these words, or are these empty, meaningless words used only for advertising purposes?
So, once again I clarify the question: What is the meaning of the generation change just for digital crypto-currencies?

They mean that payment methods are being improved, now no one needs to carry a purse with them, but to have a card for payment, this is the second stage of development, and the next one is generally payment by crypto-currencies, but for now this is fantastic. When already anywhere in any part of the world you do not even need to exchange money at the rate.

Old good methods of paying for Internet purchases and other services through the terminal, sticking in money and waiting for the transfer, it was a long time and with the exit to the street. And with the advent of new technologies you can not leave home.
