  INTRODUCING :  THE ZEROSUM GAME

WHAT IS THE ZERO SUM GAME  Roll Eyes
▄▄▄

This game is a zerosum game, that is you do not play against the house (like at the casino) but you compete against other players.
Each team owns a contract.
Bet on a team, the HEADS team or the TAILS team, and send the amount you want to stake in ethers.
At the end of the round, the winning team is randomly drawn.
The total sum * of the bets made during the round is proportionally distributed among the bettors of the winning team, according to everyone’s initial bet percentage.

EXAMPLE OF A GAME ROUND
▄▄▄

Bob bets 1 ether on the HEADS team, Luc bets 2 ethers on the HEADS team.
Alice bets 2 ethers on TAILS, John bets 4 ethers on the TAILS team.
The total pool is 9 ethers (minus a 1% service fee)
At the end of the round, the winning team is the TAILS team The 9 ethers of the pool are divided between Alice and John.
Alice contributed 33% to TAILS team bets so she won about 3 ethers *, John contributed 66% to the TAILS team bets so he won about 6 ethers *, Bob and Luc lost their bet.

DURATION
▄▄▄
Each round lasts 24 hours. Winners in each round receive their winnings a few minutes after the end of the round.
You have to send your bet from a local wallet, do not send funds from an exchange wallet, we won't be able to send your payout.

WINNERS
▄▄▄

We combine WolframAlpha (via Oraclize) with precalculated numbers in a reliable, secure and impartial way.

Technical details for tech-savvy readers : https://gist.github.com/yoann-losbar/fc31d65a747f6e9dc9808c82dd335888

Note : The verification page (providing pub hashes, salts and sha2 calculator will be available in the next days)

COMMISSIONS
▄▄▄

You pay no commission to bet on a team. A 1% commission on the overall prize pool is applied before the pay-out to the winning team.

Good idea. I understand that the whole game is based on the blockchain of the ethereum, it is transparent and without deception. Can I bet only in ETH?

The game on the ETH blockchain certainly only supports ETH.

Very interesting concept. What is the game that will be played? Is the game just a pure random winner of a betting round or is it a game that will be played by two players that require skills (like chess) that improves the odds of one team winning over another?

Yes, the game is based on three ethereum contracts, (two for receiving each team bets and one for the core of the game).

As you said, the game is transparent, the funds can not be withdrawn by the administrators, the only way to get money out of the contract is to pay the winners.

I'll release the source code today  Wink

Yes, I think it's just random. But it would be nice if Dev confirms and explains which algorithm for randomization is used.
Also, may I suggest that you shorten the time period of each round. Or make two parallel rounds, one lasting 24 hours, other on only one hour or something.

Here in the ANN it says that service fee is 2% but on the website it says 3%. My opinion is that both are too much. 1% should be enough. Or maybe keep 3% for now but make a promise that you will lower fee to 1% when there will be more than 1 ETH daily volume.

Anyway, I like the idea!

Also, may I suggest that you shorten the time period of each round. Or make two parallel rounds, one lasting 24 hours, other on only one hour or something.

Hi dE_logics, thank your for your feedback.
We have taken into consideration your suggestion, and you are right. The following rounds (from round #15) will last 1 hour each.  Wink

Here is how we generate the random number. Do not hesitate to ask for precisions if required.

Once the round is over :

We ask oraclize for a random number between 1 and 2, let’s call this number OraclizeNumber
At the same time, we extract a pre-calculated secret random number for this round between 1 and 2, let’s call this number LocalNumber

IF OraclizeNumber = 1 AND LocalNumber = 1, THEN the winning team is “HEADS”
IF OraclizeNumber = 1 AND LocalNumber = 2, THEN the winning team is “TAILS”
IF OraclizeNumber = 2 AND LocalNumber = 2, THEN the winning team is “TAILS”
IF OraclizeNumber = 2 AND LocalNumber = 1, THEN the winning team is “HEADS”

How OraclizeNumber is determined

We use the following query, inside the main smart contract ( https://etherscan.io/address/0xa464ce87d6ae47c23254f9bb431274cdc4164625 )

Code:
 bytes32 queryId = oraclize_query("WolframAlpha", "RandomInteger[{1, 2}]”);

The response from Oraclize is publicly available, given the fact that they call our _callback function within the main contract

Example of _callback call : https://etherscan.io/tx/0xe6427875539d02bfa38beec70da00a23b15725f3dd780e1cc5bb731c5a5ca98b

How LocalNumber is determined

We have used the following javascript code to precalculate a large number of LocalNumbers for the future rounds.

https://gist.github.com/yoann-losbar/546a7dd73719a567d6b6edbd2ce0be30

Example for round 703 (fake data, for illustrative purpose only)

    “703": {
        "winningChoice": 2,
        "pub": "38c12dc83787c5a342dcf78e8c9cdc2b2b1cd48a8bc2e080b531c305084b65b5",
        "salt": "440393a3-cfe0-4250-89df-b34530fc28f5"
    }

The “pub” key 38c12dc83787c5a342dcf78e8c9cdc2b2b1cd48a8bc2e080b531c305084b65b5 will be publicly available as soon as the round starts.
The salt and the winningChoice are going to be kept secret until the round finishes.
As soon as the round is finished, the precaculated winningChoice and the salt key are going to be released.

You’ll then be able to verify that this local winning number (LocalNumber in our example) has not been modified by us since the beginning of the round by using the following code :

Code:
Pub = sha256(winningChoice + winningHashSalt);

Why are we using two random numbers from different sources to determine the final winning random number

This system is trustless, as the true spirit of smart contracts/cryptocurrencies .
None of the 4 involved actors ( the Ethereum Miners, Oraclize, us, and you, players) can know in advance the outcome of a round, and bet using this knowledge.

Note :

The verification page (providing pub hashes, salts and sha2 calculator will be available in the next days)

Do not hesitate if you have more questions  Smiley

Hello Harry_Bitcoin12ER ! Thank your for you feedback !
You don't need to withdraw, if you win a round, your payout will automatically be sent to the ETH address that you have used to send your bet.  Smiley

There are *some* similarities, the "player vs player" part, but a lot of differences too. The concept to share gains et losses between teams is unique.

The minimum bet you have to send in order to join the game is 0.05 ETH.

Try it out yourself, we'll refund you 0.05 ETH if you lose.  Kiss

By the way we are not doing an ICO. The product is live, working, and 100% self-funded   Smiley
