Would you be interesting in participating in a crypto-raffle if it would be completely transparent (all the transactions to the raffle wallet would be visible to everyone and the winner would be selected by a random generator that could not be manipulated)? I like gambling, but I can't find any reliable/honest places (lost some crypto during the last few years like his..nothing major though), so I'm thinking to create my own raffles. I am looking for ideas how to make this as transparent as possible. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

It's been done before, although didn't get enough traction to keep going.

But from a technical perspective, you can follow this procedure: https://web.archive.org/web/20151213003346/pevpot.com/provably-fair

The probably is, unless the prize is going to be worth >20 BTC -- there's little incentive to really play such a lottery, and people are probably better off playing on a dice site for instant gratification. If you could get a prize pool worth >100 BTC, it'd certainly be interesting  -- but to be honest, I'm not sure how you'd sell enough tickets.

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

Are two raffle sites known to me that claim to be fair but I am not sure how it actually works. You can go through them to find out whether they are fair or not.

How you have planned to create a fair transparent crypto-raffle? How you gonna attract users in early stages?

Depends how far your random generator can persist with the random numbers. At some point, the algorithm tends to establish a pattern which can be predictable. You can always use blocks/hashes for declaring a winner.

I like gambling, but I can't find any reliable/honest places (lost some crypto during the last few years like his..nothing major though), so I'm thinking to create my own raffles. I am looking for ideas how to make this as transparent as possible. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
It's ironic that you lost at gambling and you want to create your own lotteries. That both don't go hand-in-hands.If you are playing on a website which has no provable fair mechanisms ,you're obvious to lose.Play on the reputed websites instead.(like the one in my signature)

making it fair and trusted is not that hard, it has happened before multiple times. the problem however, is that people are not so interested in joining gambling games they have little chance to win. they usually prefer simple games that are also happening fast, such as Dice games for example. and as long as there are lots of games like these, they won't go for "Raffles" even if they are transparent.

so you either have to find another type of game and spend your time developing that, or you have to find a way to make your Raffle different so that you can find players willing to play there, which is going to be very hard!

Basically what everybody have said here before.

These days it's very easy to make it fair using smart contracts and hashed blocks.

Issue is that there is little incentive and most likely you will use a house edge larger than most dice sites.

And in that scenario it doesn't make any sense. Plus the dice you will know right away if you are a winner instead of having to wait for the results.
