The first part was a joke on conspiracy theories, wasn't being serious. I thought people would notice the sarcasm (little hard to notice over text but I still tried to make it so over the top to be noticeable).  Grin

Well economy still has 1 in 6 good threads, unlike bitcoin discussion, but still there's speculation board that has some nice topics that are worth the read for info unleast.

There's only so much you can talk about in economics so usually it's not a problem but, with Bitcoin discussion a wide variety of posts fit within it and then it's the top category and therefore there's a lot  of posts which are put in there when they belong in other sections.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I believe this is an "attack". They will flood and spam the forum with useless and stupid topics to make it hard for us to discuss important matters about Bitcoin to make all of us ignorant. Plus it also serves their agenda to misinform the unknowledgeable.
Any proof or source of "attack" that you are saying?

The are always misleading title of the topic which were already caught the attention of the readers. Since the merit system was implemented, many people are correcting other post rather than giving their opinion to it. It is still depend on the power of your research if you will believe this spams.

I am pretty sure I have seen a few shill posters on here, but I wouldn't say the forum is under a spam attack, as I rarely come across a post I would genuinely consider completely spam. I think a lot of people come here thinking that they have finally found the promised land, and then realize this is more hostile territory than they are used to, and their low quality posts won't be tolerated.

Who are They? Bankers? Roger Ver? CIA?
C'mon, it's only account farmers and lazy shiposters who don't know English language well, have very limited knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and came here to earn easy money by making low quality posts without putting any effort. I don't that we need to make conspiracy theories about them.

Read this https://whowhatwhy.org/2016/01/27/disinformation-part-1-how-trolls-control-an-internet-forum/

Go read about "forum sliding" and "inoculating the truth against the public" and then tell me if my assumptions are not valid.

Bitcointalk used to be a place where the top Bitcoiners discussed everything intellectual about Bitcoin. Its technical direction, its economics and more importantly its politics. I believe "they" are trying to disrupt those kinds discussions to make the public "blind".

I have also observed this. I saw a post by a member here posting that he is having problem getting his first merit. I was responding to his thread after few days and he already got 3 merits till then for other posts. I checked his past posts and they were much better than the posts he made before making hat thread.

I also remember a post about someone selling his house for bitcoin investment. It looked like a way to get attention and was quite old post. When I checked recent posts of that person, he was making awesome contribution in alt coin section.

Well yes, but is it clearly defined what goes under bitcoin discussion? I mean, anything that's concerning bitcoin can go over there, tho there are some that definitely should be in different section but then you have " the general environment,etc.." in description...

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.
