I think that there are several things that should be taken into account and are very important when we are investing in ICO, for me these are:

- detailed whitepaper, where project is described in details, and it is obvious that team though about all details, besides this white paper should not be copied.
- team and advisers, which have enough experience in  the industry ICO is going to work and in cryptos as well.
- previous projects of the team, if company had some other successful projects or it is big player in the area it is also good sign.

What would you add?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

For me the most important thing is the is valuation of the ICO, most of these ICOs as we are finding out now, don't need to be valued more than $10 million, what is showing in the market now is that some of these projects that are over valued the market is now showing the real value they worth. Another important thing is the usefulness of these tokens they are offering, some of these tokens have no real world use they are just created for the sake of ICO to collect people's money
