After some time researching the ico pumpers and reporting quite some profiles already, I see a new strategy in this profitable business.
Creating new account only for one bump. This generates thousands of new accounts per day only for to bump one thread one time.
Here are some examples>

https://archive.fo/tXK6Y#selection-2859.0-2859.11

Profiles with only one post which is a quote of the Ann post.

Thanks to Vod, now I can search more efficient for ICO abusers:
See here >
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/search.aspx?q=hoanglong
http://dev.martinlawrence.ca/bpip/search.aspx?q=haidang

Note. Some accounts show that they have 0 post count but this is because the last profile database update on the bpip was done before the account had any activity.

This is just a brief example of the current situation. If I go deeper I guess I'll find more and more abusers.

I hope the admins can find a solution also to this problem, like restricting brand new accounts to post on the Ann section or having at 15 activity in order to post there, and make it more difficult for those shitposters.

This is rife at the moment. Just report them when you see them and include in the comment field that they are bumping by just quoting the original topic. Unfortunately by the time the moderators have chance to deal with them another 10 have already done the same. I'm not sure what could be put in place to actually prevent this from happening.

Users with less then 10 post can post. But the forum thread don't bump.

OP can of cause post but the thread don't bump.

Each user can post multible times but only bump the same thread one time.

Thats how I have solved it on a forum I run.

I assume English isn't your first language but I'll try to interpret it. Let me know if you meant something else.

This is pretty useless TBH unless the limit is significantly raised since ones like Deeponion has hired shills with high ranked accounts including some legendaries, hero members, etc. And 10 posts is ridiculously low and most account farmers already cross that threshold since they try to aim for Jr Member for all the campaigns.

Not really worth it as the ICO managers posters themselves don't post as much as they know bumping the thread too much themselves with get them attention from the DTs and the mods and an ANN thread with a DT negged trust isn't really nice for their promotion. They use shills who get paid in ETH, BTC or other tokens.

This seems useful and neat at a glance but you need to remember that unless you make it like once per account for lifetime it'll be again endless cycle of alts since it's not like making alts is particularly hard given there's no email checks, no rules on multi accounting unless it's ban evasion of a spam/plagiarism ban

Something really needs to be done about this stuff. The forum is just getting overrun with both sig campaign spammers and scumbags using bots to promote their own scams and it's only going to get worse. Maybe it might be worth looking into requiring some amount of merit before you can post in certain sections. That would probably kill most of these bots. I have also previously suggested that all new users are essentially shadowbanned until a moderator checks their posts and then either whitelists or nukes them. Obvious bot accounts like this would probably be very easy to spot and most wouldn't make it past whitelisting.

Really, is there no email checks when you register? I have registered quite some time ago and I don't remember this option, but this explains why there are so many new accounts created on a daily basis.
Well then I'm really looking forward to the new forum. Many things will be changed for good.

I cannot agree with you more.
Maybe the posts in off topic should not be counted as activity posts and reduce the shitload of garbage there.

Well you need to enter an email, but it can be any email. There is no "verification" email sent to verify IIRC.

Never understood why off topic even counts for activity. Most forums don't count off topic posts for this very reason. More than that what makes me wonder is why even activity farm in offtopic? Why not in Bitcoin discussions where you're even getting paid for posting spamming via signature campaigns. Most signature campaigns copy paste the existing ones from established managers and thus rule out Off topic then why do these shitposters even bother with offtopic?

You can put anything down. I think email confirmation should be required as it would stop a lot of bots or at the very least slow them down.

Well they don't really count for much now you need merit. I still wouldn't be against discounting that board from activity/post-count though. I have also suggested lower-ranks shouldn't even be allowed to post in there because there's no good reason why people would sign up just to post in there. Maybe it should be limited to Full Members and up or something.

Well this is a bit disappointing, I suggested some time ago that we have to have at least 2FA, now I understand that we do not even have a confirmation email. No doubt that the wave of shitposters and ico pumpers is huge.

There are still campaigns for jr. members and there is no requirement for merit, so..I hope with the time the things will be better and this madness now will settle down a little, but we'll see.

This will definitely be a panacea for such forum truancy. It is very worrisome to behold such spam and bump outburst on daily basis. Sadly, on a recurring proportion and magnitude.

Most signature campaigns copy paste the existing ones from established managers...
At least we saw this recently with the dude who copied Yahoo's format verbatim. I will put up the link here once I stumble on it.

Sigh! Yes, the posts there should not count for activity.

Well, you still have two components in the ranking system. The merit maybe is more important but you also need activity and the easiest way is just to generate it is the off topic section.

Sigh! Yes, the posts there should not count for activity.

I don't know why this was not fixed till now. Maybe theymos is afraid that the whole spam from there will move to the main forum sections, and in such a case maybe he is right. The bitcoin section is already filled with megathreads that a coping each other.

After 22 pages people are still quoting and answering the OP but no one is reading the previous comments, just piling up useless comments that no one will ever read.
True story....
