I get that you need help and all - but you're asking something akin to - "what's a bitcoin?"

you want a miner NOW but refuse to grasp this concept that demand is greater than supply for anything of magnitude that could have a hope of reaching break even.  If you want hardware so badly, your only options are asicminers or underpowered bfl units or avalon units ala ebay or amazon.com for 3x the price they should be marked at for break even.

There are no serious companies at this point. Everyone is pretty much new are proved to be a disappointment.

Why do you want to buy an ASIC?

If you expect easy money and definite break-even or profits, i think you are going to be disappointed.

If you want to mine for fun get an ASICMINER USB Block Erupter. They only cost about BTC0.1-0.15. Won't make your money back but that's true for just about all the equipment you can buy. This way you don't break the bank.

With the rest of your money just buy Bitcoins. And wait till they increase in value (or not).

There is life after Paypal. Much life actually.

You best bet as stated above is to purchase a Block Erupter or Block erupter Blade. You could purchase "shares" that represent hashing power & you get dividends of BTC according to how much hashing power you own.

I know he's got a bad rap, but Yifu is selling.

http://avalon-asics.com/

I ordered a board on Tuesday and it arrived by Friday.

It will probably not break even, but I wanted to fill out my batch 2 Avalon, so meh...

Only three companies can be trusted

1. ASICMINER (Friedcat)
2. BitFury
3. Kncminer

However you need a very great number such as 2Th/s or even more to follow up. Before you add these actual beings, You should use virwox to ask first 0.4 BTC (Which should be 78 USD), Put the 0.4BTC on cex.io, Then you can do other later on as if you cannot obtain real hashrate, useless, meaningless.

If you buy a Block Erupter on eBay you at least have PayPal buyers protection and because you buy with dollars you might break even when the BTCUSD ratio gets higher (ignoring that it would be more lucrative to just buy the BTC).

serious or joking? because that is a terrible idea. a BE costs about $8-15 and will probably produce about 0.015-0.03BTC in the next 3 months

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

When Bitcoin goes over $500-$1000 you'd break even. Of course you would make more if you bought $15 worth's of Bitcoin.

But it's not a great deal of money and you could experiment with mining.

Not everyone has tens of thousands of dollars to spend on the really lucrative equipment. Only for those people ROI is a factor. From what I read even a KnC miner won't make you the full amount of invested money back. So even for the people who buy those it's a hobby, not an investment.

Hashfast is probably the only vendor where you stand a chance of getting your ROI.

Right now you should just buy the coins, hold to sell at the top coming up here in a couple days and keep an eye on new machines coming out and crunch some ROI numbers.

dont buy an ASIC right now.

So BFL, Cointerra, and Hashfast are still considered unknown if they actually delivered their ASICs? I know Terrahash is a scam anyway judging by the responses on the thread. Might have to look into those companies you mentioned.

Well, BFL, Cointerra, and Hashfast delay their delivery, 1 month is bad enough in Bitcoin World as your profit drops about 60% every month....
