A new currency is emerging on the Internet. Net currency Bitcoin traded without middlemen and fees and expected by users challenge current banking system. But U.S. politicians now want to prohibit Bitcoin when they suspect that the anonymous and highly encrypted currency used by drug dealers.
Netdrugexpert Cecilia Fant of the Criminal Investigation Department says that a similar ban may be the case also in Sweden. I haven't seen any English sources reporting on this though?

Bitcoin is not a currency by legal meaning, so they would need to ban any barter made without government issued fiat currency. It is almost impossible, or U.S. became new North Korea.

This could also be considered good news. Originally they thought bitcoin and silk road were the same thing. The fact they are differentiating between them means they are coming along in their understanding.
