Neocoin is an innovative coin with unique features (message notifications with encryption, push technology, software update notification, real-time stock market, nec live converter, trade alerts, sounds, new animation, new rpc commands, unique reward system...)

Main Features:

  • Scrypt
  • Proof-Of-Work (POW) + Proof-Of-Stake (POS)
  • 100 seconds block time
  • Exponential moving average'difficulty/reward adjustment
-> Scarcity enforced by Moore's Law similar to ppcoin, mint rate gradually drops as difficulty rises, without sudden halving shock
  • Users can send instant messages with encryption within the client to another clients wallet

Neocoin is an innovative coin with uniques features (message notifications with encryption, push technology, software update notification, real-time stock market, nec live converter, trade alerts, sounds, new animation, new rpc commands, unique reward system...)

See complete features here:
http://neocoin.org/

Note: Some features will be removed in the next version to provide a lighter client.

Main Features:

  • Scrypt
  • Proof-Of-Work (POW) + Proof-Of-Stake (POS)
  • 100 seconds block time
  • Exponential moving average'difficulty/reward adjustment
-> Scarcity enforced by Moore's Law similar to ppcoin, mint rate gradually drops as  difficulty rises, without sudden halving shock
  • Users can send instant messages with encryption within the client to another clients wallet

Note: There is no bug in the pos code but some PoW/PoS coin are created anyhow with important bugs. Neocoin is stable and without these bugs, there is no problem like other POW/POS coins, no fork issues and no sync issues.

Please remove "PhenixEx" from the list of exchanges. The owners ran away with the coins.

The PoS minting worked exactly as I'd expected.  Coins went to stake after exactly 30 days of age.  They came out of stake after a few hours with newly minted coins.  No problems.

The wallet design appears to have improvements over the standard qt wallet.  For example the transaction section is easier to read.  I've noticed the price has jumped in the past couple of days.

That's a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE thieve pool. During the past 1hr I was supposed to make 54 coins based on my hashrate and difficulty it only paid me 12!! I mean its worse than MULTIPOOL and I never knew thats even possible.

anyone know an honest pool for this coin? like dogehouse.org for DOGE or bitcoop.tk for NET? those pools pay me 100% of what I calculate. No cheating.

This is not our fault!  This coin is problematic..we see tons of orphans!  How are we thieves when you  get below the estimates based on your hashrate when this is going with neocoin? we have many pools and this issue rarely happens..when it does, it the coin, not our pool.

Any trick to getting the wallet to work? It just counts down slowly from 206000, then goes back to 20600. Over and over in an endless loop.

I joined this pool this morning and I wonder if there's a basic problem with this coin.

the number of orhpans far exceed the number of mined coins

is there some inherent problem with the block chain of this coin?

I also tread megamultipool but their servers were so slow I could not even connect - which is  really pathetic

this was the only pool I could find to join and like I said they have 80% orphans - what a waste of time this pool is but I want to mine this coin

http://nec.botpool.net

any ideas or good pool to join?

thanks

Would be better if someone associated with Neocoin could maybe update the "Official" thread for their coin.  Cheesy

Saw this update on one of the pools I use (neo.cryptcoins.net):

5/23/14- Neocoin client updated to version: v2.2.1-neocoin.

Probably means folks should update their wallets!

We Pay every 2 minutes for the coins you have generated. Mined blocks need to be matured, and that depends on the coin, we cant send you coins we dont have. As soon as a block you hace mined matured the pool pays, we dont jeep a single coin stored to minimize hacking risks.

PLEASE, try to read how pools and block maturity works before raising spam accusations

Your too quick mannn, I removed the SCAM message before you even hit the reply button

EDIT: oops I was supposed to remove it must not have worked Cheesy now it is though... I assumed this was one of those quick coins that come through flying since it stated every 2 minutes, but I now understand... I will go to sleep and wake up to see how many coins I have generated.

Is there a way to preview the coins generated from my worker?

Check your wallet you should have got 12 payments and more are coming as soon as the coins mature (coin maturity is 100 mined blocks for Neocoin, that's a coin creator decission, we can't do anything to change it)

Neocoin is still syncing at http://bemining.net. You can point your miner to port 4444 and get excellent profits from other coins until neocoin is added. It will be added as an additional coin as soon as the daemon is synced. PM if you are going to send your hash first please to ensure maximum satisfaction.

Anyone know why all exchanges are not allowing anyone to deposit NeoCoins and trade them off?Huh
My wallet is up to date and has no problems so I don't believe Cryptsy saying this BS! "Our wallet is currently offline while we perform system maintenance." I smell conspiracy! WTF?Huh I could have traded off lots of NEC since yesterday as it's been at the #1 position for almost 24 hours consistently since yesterday... That's why I went to the trouble of downloading and syncing the wallet! It was at like $65+/day for my 12.5MHs! Dammit!  Angry

NOT A SINGLE GOOD POOL WITH HIGH DIFF
Abandoning coin.

Try port 17300, just set up with a diff of 30000 just for you.

The pool just disconnected again.... Again the list index out of range. I'm pretty sure this pool doesn't have the right configuration....

Neocoin is still syncing at http://bemining.net. You can point your miner to port 4444 and get excellent profits from other coins until neocoin is added. It will be added as an additional coin as soon as the daemon is synced. PM if you are going to send your hash first please to ensure maximum satisfaction.

try www.poollo.com .... I'm doing great with NeoCoin there!

I Modify Miners Professionally! PM me for details!

every pool has over 50% orphans and non of the exchanges are taking neocoin anymore.  Everyone is mining this coin because it is on the top of the profit list but noone will be able to exchange it and with the orphans it should be at the bottom of the list.

Come get your NEC!

http://www.hasher.ca

PROP reward system
Worker Stats
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
Auto ProfitSwitching Ports (beta testing now)

To mine:

Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Hey guys! I've moved NEC off this pool and into my new BTC paying Multipool.  Would love some more testers as I've got no fee's during this period. Here are the details:

PROP reward system
Scrypt & SHA256 Algo's
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
0% Fees while in BETA
To mine:
Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Cryptsy is still going strong for NEC trades... https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register?refid=253368

Having said all that iSpace's connection times out (for last 12 hours)

Do you know what can I do In order to synchronize my wallet? Can I have one one your nodes? Actually I don't know what to do, I have some thousands in a pool and I don't want to send them directly to cryptsy , since my last deposit haven't be credited

Hi, I am not sure what I have to do with these lines...

I have tried to add a config file (neocoin.config) with the following conf (using your IP's):

Good to hear you're up and running, Orphans are a fact of life in the Digital Mines...  Some times they are few and far between, other times they roll in with the tide.

I'm on neo.cryptcoins.net myself - there's 8 or nine on as I type.

The neocoin.conf file goes in your C:\Users\(blah)\AppData\Roaming\Neocoin directory, where blah is the name of your system.

iSpace is still off line and yes, the Cryptsy wallet isn't accepting deposits just now.

OK thanks... I will stay in http://neo.cryptcoins.net/

About cryptsy...  it is working right now!  I have received some coins sent from my wallet.

I think I must open a ticket on ispace as about 15000 of my necoins are "missing"

Have just heard from iSpace hat they were on the wrong chain due to a forking issue... I've been mining there for last 12 hours, so finger's crossed.

Oh and found this NEC/42/MEC/DOGE/Fast/Franco/Noble Pool in my wandering's ... http://pools.harvestcrypto.com/

Thanks for info.

I will try the pool you have discovered

As I see you are in the neocoins I would Like to ask you about stake. It is working? I haven't received any stake interest. I supose it is similar to oher PoS coins: just have your wallet running

Regards

You have to wait 'about' 30 days from when they landed in the wallet to when they start to stake.  Because I have so few, mine show as 0.00 but my balance seems to creep up just that little bit each month.

PS if you look at the found list over on yonder iSpace you'll see I had a run of orphans too, no big deal it happens, hopefully the dev of any coin will iron it out..

You never wonder how they can offer 0% fees on ispace? Well now you do.

Must be dead as the primary website (neocoin.org) isn't owned anymore, according to Google cache.

Cryptsy has quietly removed NeoCoin from their exchange in the last few days too.

There's still some interest in the coin given there's a handful of nodes active.
