People keep saying this. So, what real-world purpose, exactly, does this serve? I get it, prime numbers, great.... what value does that provide to the world? And how well does that correlate to the current/future price?

all clone of bitcoin wont survive. only coin with innovation or unique or science value will rise - like PPC,NVC,Prime now. The speed of cryptocurrency has also a big matter. Prime is 12x faster then BTC, NVC and PPC should be fast when more people will make POS block. Another big factor is hard work of devs + promotion.

Agreed, any clones of bitcoin will suffer the technical issues or failures. Any digital currency with a more unique approach will survive the clones, but how many out there are actually unique and not just a copy/paste of the bitcoin code with the title renamed? I only know of one.

I think that all of them will continue to decline against BTC if it goes parabolic. XPM and PPC reversed the trend for a short time, but everything has pretty consistently fallen as BTC has risen.

Except GoldCoin...

Yes really, that site's live statistics is not very good, look long term.

We rose 26% yesterday, while BTC was rising.
