I used to work in PCI DSS, but I left after there was a minor data breech at another local vendor. There are inherent risks to the current credit card and banking systems. People spend so much money on the systems to ensure security, but even that's not enough. If somebody has hacked your account, and MtGox was up to PCI DSS (assuming that is what they have meant by industry standard), then they have gone beyond reason to protect your information. Years ago, the university i work at used to write the student's credit card number on their student record. After PCI DSS, we had to white out the credit card number on A LOT of papers, copy them, and destroy the original. Even with measures such as that (the storage facility was secure), we are still barely compliant. If somebody can attack your account at MtGox, they can probably do the same on TradeHill, there is just more people/money on MtGox.
