it seems to me that reference cards are more valuable than non ref one. why is that?

because they can be easily flashed / unlocked / overclocked / underclocked / have backup bios

one advantage of non-ref can be better/quieter coolers

Ah ok, cuz i was reading about how they were cooler and quieter and cheaper!
