this is my own opinion but it may help others.

I have found that all the ICOs i have invested in have launched at almost the ICO price but in a few days dipped below the ICO prices by half or 5X for some.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

Hope this helps to the new investors thinking of ICOs

It is quite normal to expect the ICO tokens to have a dip in price during the first few months of their launch. It is because of the bounty participants that the price fall because there are many people who work in bointy programs to promote the ICOs and then when the tokens/coins are launched in the exchanges, the people dump it to get BTC in return for it. This is how the cycle had been working until today.

most coin ico falls below price. it is true..   but some coins make x3 x5.. so it is necessary to investigate well. you also see the situation of the market, all the coins are falling.

It is not useful to beginners First we should study the white paper and road map of the new project then it is satisfy our expectation we can invest ICO. But two to three times analyse the project and ask suggestion for some experts then we can invest the ICO.

Any investor who has spent a considerable amount of time chasing ICOs and trading Cryptocurrencies knows this a sound strategy to follow, neglecting those few projects that their prices never dipped. But the question/problem that arises if everyone was to wait for the launch and the DIP to buy at corrected prices, then who will buy during the ICO?

Sure 2017 was not the same as 2018 for ICO. In 2017 there was a bull market pumping everything up. As for now we have got BTC decrease, several ICO bans and unclear perspectives of crypto advertisement.
That's make sence.

I have a few basic pointers for investing in ICO or to wait for exchanges...

The ones that I buy in ICO :

1. The ICO shouldn't have huge mCap, likely less than 20million or a VERY GOOD product to justify the cap.
2. The ICO shouldn't have any Airdrop or Bounty as these people usually sell cheap.
3. Long lockups for the Team tokens.
4. No Big Bonuses for early investors or Large PreSale investors.

I think this is pretty obvious for everybody who is following the markets.

The gold times of 2017 with easy x10-20 in just few weeks after the ICO are over. Now we must be much more careful. Still, finance and gambling ICO's are showing great ROI.

We may have not same fate but one thing is for sure that bitcoin will really increase in its value, so I don't worry much, what I am most worried are the people who does not see bitcoin as an opportunity for themselves. For sure they will just regret things again in the future.

The reason for serious bashing of ICO prices on various exchange is as a result of the current market condition. The Bear is raging right now and many negative news coming from all quarters as regard cryptocurrency is not helping either. ICO is still a brilliant way to invest.  I will suggest you buy ICO and hold.

Investing in good ICO projects really better on pre-ico stages, and really in first 1-3 month after listing on exchanges price can be low, because bounty participants and other people, who didn’t invest but get tokens sell him. But if project really good you can get x5 x10 profit, more attention

2018 will become the year of ICO regulations by governments of different countries, especially USA and Russia, which may cause qualitative growth of new ICOs.

This is so true. I've been joined a lot of ICO since early 2018.
The true fact is, the price will never reach the ICO price almost 2-3 month.

At least ICOs in 2017 like xrb, icx, gvt are doing well but ICOs in 2018 are a disaster, The ones I tried this year have killed me so bad, from CPY, seth, ins, gla, titanium blockchain

Everything evolves, even the ICO market. Last year there was a lot of enthusiasm and little competition, the campaigns lasted a few weeks and it was easy to collect big figures. Now there is general mistrust, the market is going through a moment of depression and there is a lot of competition.
But this is positive, because it encourages quality: only the best will survive.

I agree you can see the difference in just the price it already evolves because in early 2017 you can buy around like 10k of that tokens with like $100 but now your $100 is just about 2000 tokens.

I think 2018 is the time for real trader/investor that we can not simple buy and hodl coin and wait for pumping.
we should analyze the market like people do in forex.

But can we really analyse the market here talking about ico. Ico is initial coin offer and that means it is a new introduction to the crypto market. Thus, the market (crypto market) can't be analysed alongside the ico coin which will be absent at the moment of analysis because it was yet to come to the market. With this little analysis, we can see that analysing a new coin with crypto market won't really apply unlike fx that you made mention of. Every currency in Fx trade can be analyzed because they are always present and traded, the history can be looked at for analysis.

Before put your investment in any of ICOs project, you learn about it's project about and roadmap. Some project has good idea with long road map so you need be patient with their price increasing. So if you sure to invest on it, just take it for long-term deal, hold it until roadmap reach the latest promotion. It will increasing it's price in the market.
