I have to agree with the OP, although this might not be the case for every ICO, the truth is that a lot of the fuss regarding ICO investment has dropped quite significantly, and most people buy them at discount prices in the start, and then manage to sell them for a profit when the sell ends, and those who bought last get a loss. That's why it's very important to get a good look at the project, and if you can't really decide if they are legit or not, then it's probably better to wait for them to actually deliver the product, and get listed in exchanges and see how their price develops.

Timing is crucial for ICO to success as well, like currently no coins want be get listed that soon as market force would dump their investor to get into dips, seriously ICO had already overloaded, all companies treat it as a mean of funding like usual companies do and basically the game of manipulator goes on, ICO in 2018 has more and more powerful companied backed up projects, but they are getting more sophisticated to trick investor with bonuses and fancy stuff, not a good year for ICO

We know that ICO coin will be dumped at their first release to the market.You suggest to buy on the dip after dumping,but most coin will stay in that price and not likely to recover.It depends on the people support on that coin to make the price rise again,so find some ICO that has high rate for succeed.

We all know that in 2017 there are lots of ICO launch in crypto and some of them are not existed right now and other has strong value. For this year there are some ICO relaunch for the update or enhancement of their project but i would like to tell to all Investors that be careful on engaging in ICO because there are lots of scam project exist like legit ICO.

This was bound to happen, as more and more people noticed that whatever they touched in 2017 turned to gold the projects that are gold are going to be harder to find -- as the people making these ICO's also know that the market is hot, and easy to scam. So if anyone tosses up an ICO right now they're going to get a massive amount of money, with no issue at all.

Project quality degrades as the amount of money available (without any sort of protection for the sender) drastically increases. So yeah, most of these ICO's are shit. Though you can still find a diamond in the rough.

As more ICOs coming by , we will see less 5x or 3x , because the money in the market divided and each one gets less piece of cake , i think we will have more ICOs in 2018 than in 2017 and that's a good thing .

I think ICOs will do very well in 2018, but ICOs using the Etherum based payment system are having a hard time. For this reason I think that Etherum should return to its old values.

I have found that all the ICOs i have invested in have launched at almost the ICO price but in a few days dipped below the ICO prices by half or 5X for some.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

If they succeed in bringing in the masses into crypto with the 1st arbitrage exchange then they will give every coin a run for their money. Whichever coin brings in the masses will, they have the best chance in my opinion being that they will level the price volatility through arbitrage trading that keeps so many scared people out of the market. Finding the best tech and real solutions to big problems is how to find the winning ICO's in '18.

I know some ICO owners who constantly create ICO using different business model and hiring fake people to act infront of public. They are making ICO bad and a pump and dump scheme.

It has been like this for some time now and it has nothing to do with 2018. Although, we are in a down trend, so it is normal. Secondly, we also have to ask ourselves that who is actually selling their coins below the ICO prices?

Normally, no sane investor would sell for loss, so that brings us down to the bounty hunters and really it is becoming appalling because no bounty hunter should also be stupid enough to sell way below the ICO price, but it is market, so we cannot force anyone, whoever wants to hold is going to hold and whoever believes in the project would buy more if it gets lower.

Well, in general, 2018 has not been very good for ICOs and crypto with regards to the bans and negative press it has faced in the especially in the first two months. So there was always going to be a struggle for coins to shoot right up after ICO launch completion. Another reason tied to this is that bounty participant who were given "free" tokens are most likely selling theirs for a more valuable coin, given the current market and dipping the price of this coin. Also for bounty participants they may not actually believe in the long term of the project, so hence why they sell. So as an individual investor, again, it very important to do thorough research into the project before you invest, especially if you are in for the short-term of it. because if you are in for the long term, you wouldn't really worry about the dips now.

In 2017 some ICO came in this online market for his project Running. Now a days in 2018 there are too many project came in this online market. So we can say in 2018 there are valuable ICO program came before 2017. Now we see there are too many ICO program but all ICO program is not good project. If you want to invest with ICO program you must analyse ICO then you can invest with ICO program otherwise you can loss your money only reason for a ICO program, at the last moment your responsible for a ICO program you can't blame any ICO program because you don't know how to analyse a ICO program.

Some ICO now failed because there so many competitor in the market and also the team development not really professional to development the project, but i believe this situation will change and will be other more ICO that successfully and make investor get big profit, because cryptocurrency market and the community will continue growing and will solve this problem.

Yeah, the whole market is not doing to well, but I personally am very careful about ICOs, it's too tricky. I like projects that have working products/ecosystems or company behind it. Very rarely I find something that doesnt seem like a pure money grab. Either way, hope this year clears out the market a bit from the bad projects. Bittrex has laready started pruning, I think it's good, but market wise its bit tough now.
