Can ico projects overtake current popular crypto ?

It depends on the project that they develop. If it is unique and has a big  contribution in crypto world, it is possible. The hard part is to maintain your position at the top because many known coin  that reach top 10 usually go down and cannot maintain their position because of very tight competition.

Community support is very much needed to maintain the standing of any certain ICO plus the positive output of the market, the proper and continuous advertisement of their products.

Most of the popular cryptos started from ico's anyway. Soo I would say it is possible. However, seeing the market of today, I will not be happening any time soon. Seeing the popularity and usage of the top cryptos. Most ico's are based on the main / top 10 crypto anyway. Thus making it susceptible to the price and popularity of the blockchain it's built on. However, this is just an opinion. Who knows dogecoin will be the number 1 crypto in the future. LOL JK

I think the majority of you guys are speaking theory , you don't see the vision of this project . Would you like to have branches , like banks where you can withdraw you crypto in a few minutes ? Or go to the grocery store and buy food with your eth ? When you will be able to do that you won't give a damn of who is in the team or what was wrote in the whitepaper in the ico .

Whatever you see there as their claim is a vision that any project would have no matter how impossible it might seem. While some are consciously following that object set, others are just putting it there for the sake of not being branded as visionless people. Whatever we think would just be a guess as we have seen several projects not given the right attention, turned out to be a viable investment while those ones that has general positive review are no where to be found. What matters is that do you believe you made the right decision, if yes, all you need to do is wait...

Will there so many ICO said about that to convience there investor to join or participate there project they done,but in the end you can gain nothing or lossing your investment,maybe not at all project platform are disame because there are  also ICO that they truly to there promise,to the partcipants or investor  that the platform they created will become profitable and marketable,and can overtake the current popular crypto that run now in the exchange market and one example of this is that pillar coin.

Many currently Ico has big projects, but lacks the support of the community, and this will fail. But there are some who have great potential to grow and maybe this one can go beyond the popular crypto now.

This can be a possibility, but as the tokens increase in use, every token transaction requires GAS of the currency of the platform they are hosted in and hence increasing their use and value. So I don't think any token hosted in Ethereum platform have a marketcap above Ethereum and similar to other platforms.

now many ico are popping up and may be potential to replace its position.

it is possible, as long as the project itself has the potential to overcome other crypto. many crypto who recently popped up overcome other crypto. so if this crypto is really good, then it is possible.

That's right, it's all possible in the world of cryptocurrency.
Many projects are emerging for now and many more can be successful, the first if the icon is good then it will beat the previously existing ico position.

An ICO with an existing company and a product has a good potential to overtake some notable crypto, Cappasity as an example was a company whose product was to produce 3D,Augmented Reality(A/R),Virtual Reality(V/R) software and ecosystem for other companies like Microsoft and Alibaba. A good vision and a long term goal can possibly defeat some any popular ICO for some years from now.

There are just so many ICO projects nowadays that compete for the market - each with its own unique offer. These projects are proposing to use tokens for a certain field (communication, gambling and porn, internet security, payment for transportation, etc.). Those are just so many and they have different target markets. Popular cryptos at the moment are not used for a definite kind of service or product. They are tradable and they can be used  for whatever transactions you are having (as long as they accpet cryptos). This is the reason why I think it's difficult for ICO projects to overtake current popular crypto.

Depends on the project itself,because if the project is better than these existing altcoins or tokens possible it would overtake most of the the coins in the market,gaining a lot of investors because if the project is worthy enough most of the investors are going to invest and you will be just suprised one day that you are going to have a lot of money.

I did not study your project, so I can not say anything about it. But I believe that there are very promising and interesting ICO projects that can compete with current crypto-currencies. For example, the EOS project. If the developers can implement everything conceived, it will be very worthy project.

I don't want make speculation about it due to i don't know about your ICO project which are followed, i just want give some aspects of fundamental the ICOs which are the good ICOs in the future, they have community that be ready to addoption the coins, they have real function to be used on real life and they have real products. All of Dev team can say their project will overtake current popular crypto.

Haha, ICO will say anything to make you invest on them. If you are new in this kind of ICO thing, do much research before you invest any money on them. I am not saying that  ICO can not take the popularity of the current Crypto. But to be honest most of ICO today is a money grabbing project, for the team, and quick-rich-leave investment for the investor. Investor just blindly invest for the hype and very speculative. Thus if you want to invest in ICO you need to be very carefull

It is Possible for an ICO to gain that kind of popularity, mostly if the product the ICO is offering is of market value, good technology, proper development team and high growth potential, if all these conditions are met then the ICO will most probably rise
