And recently like minutes ago Snapchat banned ICO ads in its platform, unlike the said platforms snapchat only banned ICO which is also a good choice. But can somebody tell me if no one cares about this ban?   I don't even use snapchat like for real.

I didn't even realise that snapchat has advertisments for anything? Where can those be found? I found it funny when people were worrying about twitter because it's nothing compared to facebook and google but snapchat is just a joke! This will make next to no difference to the market.

people don't worry about this trend where all these social media companies have banned crypto ads , if the governments of the world could not not stop crypto currencies i doubt any of these companies whether singly or combined can even dream of doing this , these new developments further point to the need for crypto currency stakeholders to develop their own apps, media sites , information farms etc, infact they have the best platform to do this .......blockchain.

Hmm all this is weird all of a sudden all major social media sites have decided to ban to anything related to crypto looks like they are earning enough money nowadays but i'm 100% sure in the future they will not only allow crypto related ads but also accept cryptocurrencies so that users can purchase their stupid filters or whatever they call it that shit

ICO aren't good nowadays i have gained only losses from most of my investments made during November it's a good news so that newbies don't end up wasting their money on most of the shit ico.

I care, but for different reasons  .
I hope that ICO ads will be banned from any damn website in the future.

Till now I'm still waiting to see a real ICO coin or token that delivers what it has promised as curently I'm seeing a lot of them falling and leaving users with useless tokens.
When I browse the altcoins section for a few minutes I feel the urge for a bottle of vodka as I'm unable to understand why in the name of god would somebody believe those coins would be worth anything or used as the "devs" are promising.

As long as they are not targeting discussion between users or banning the word bitcoin they could do whatever they want. After all, it's their platform they can enforce whatever rules they want.

No ICOs^[1], banks, funds, or anything else that a person can be said to "invest" in; I may very rarely make exceptions if you convince me that you are ultra legit, but don't count on it. Ads may be rejected for other reasons, and I may remove ads even after they are accepted.

It's no fault of theirs and they are not doing this because they have some kind of malice against bitcoin, the problem is that most of these Ads are being used to scam unsuspecting people who are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies and the companies have to take responsibilty and protect the interest of their interests. I for one think this is a good thing because these scams give cryptocurrencies a bad name which affects the price.

Crypto should survive this, the people who are truly interested and want to invest in tech for the right reasons will seek out information in other ways. The ads you see on snapchat are usually for some sort of product with flashy images that grab your attention. If someone really wanted to learn about an ICO it would be imperative to read as much as possible on the tech behind it, the development team and the overall odds of adoption. There's just too much information that requires serious contemplation, ads on snapchat on the other hand aren't always conducive to this sort of thing considering the app revolves around ephemeral communication--and could therefore be easily molded into gateways for scams.

This ban will not be cared for as it seems that all social media services agree to ban crypto and ICO ads. However, I would agree that the ban is only directed to ICO advertisements. An ICO fundraiser can really make someone who follows it to get a big profit but from the experience in the market today many are only using ICO as a way to gain profits quickly and after that investors leave the coin. Wonderful. Now YouTube should soon follow up. Because let's admit it, these ads are annoying. And these ads are the reason why idiots get into doing stupid things without consulting anyone or doing any due diligence of their own and they end up being scammed. And yeah snapchat is for wannabes,legit. And it's interface is shit. But I don't think much advertisment of ICO's were there in snapchat but I could be wrong cause I never used it.

That's an interesting way to look at it. Google, Snap, Twitter, Facebook ban ICO ads and I don't think its going to stop ICO's, maybe slow down a bit. I also don't understand that companies like google (twitter, facebook, instagram...) make most of their revenue from the advertisements they show us and they've made shitloads of money from those ICO ads till now. If they can refuse that huge money that means there is something more important than money, which is ICO's itself.

They saw most of those ICO's are scams (or possible scams) and they don't want to advertise those "possible" scams willingly. It is because people are dumb (if they weren't they would use adblock and google wouldn't even survive this long) and when they lose money because of those ICO's, they'll sue google (or the others) because google told them to "get in"

I just remembered my friend "invested" in some scam ICO in December which he found via a google Ad. Of course that dumbass couldn't get his money back. Now he is staying away from everything related to crypto. He doesn't admit that he was dumb, instead he blames everything else.

For me this is a good moved to ban ICO because its really bring bad light to crypto in general. But banning doesn't equate total stoppage because we all really know that crypto is unstoppable as you have pointed out. At the long run, this ban will just be another setbacks that we have overcome. We have proven that we have this sort of staying power.

If this is the case now maybe ICOs will lose a lot of advertisements and would have to find other ways to advertise their ICOs. I knew that it was also coming and very soon all the other social media platforms are going to follow suit as well and completely ban it as well. But this is not going to bring any negative effect to the market at all.

If anyone is really interested in the growth of bitcoin, then you would care and be bothered about the bans here and there because its sending only one message which is heard loud and clear all over the world and that is crypto currency cannot be trusted. To someone already aware of crypto currency, you can separate the trustworthy ICOs from the others, you can separate bitcoin and other reputable coins from the rest but to a new individual its one and the same.

Again, its not about whether someone is using Snapchat or Instagram but what mattered is getting the message out and this platforms have been a useful means that spread beyond geographical locations, since its likely impossible to advertise on TVs. Aside that a lot of people have come in contact with crypto currency because of advert of an ICO which he didn't eventually participate. But now, all of those means are being shut, then we are likely to get stuck at a point of even go down further.
