I think it will be a while before everyone figures out what we are going to do with TAG so not to worry.. the exchange is there to let our customers buy as they come on board, but that may take a little time as well..Wink - a nice write up at one of the tech blogs might spur it along (if you guys want to ping them, be my guest..).

I think we are going to have to make a little powtoon animated tutorial on how to buy and sell on the exchange..., and at some point we will integrate it fully into the main site to make it easy to do directly from the TagBank section. We are a couple months away from that, but for now the exchange gets it going.

As for growth..wait till we add CNY for the chinese to buy and sell..Smiley...

this encourage me to hold my tagcoin i just bought around 1000 TAG at a average of .0009 hopefully next year TAG will cost 5$ a piece, time to buy more TAG as investment so i can buy 1 condo unit in the Philippines.  Grin

Exchange is now open for BTC/TAG at the moment at:

https://trade.tagbond.com

We have been told by Standard Chartered Bank that our 9 accounts will be open by Monday or Tuesday, so people can transfer over foreign currency to buy. However, if anyone wants me to fund their account in the next few days using Paypal I can do it for USD and PHP via my Zeresoft account. Not going to be offering Paypal on the site tho..for obvious reasons..Wink

Looking good, looking very good...

Depositing TAGs can be done via the exchange, but we are still testing stuff out...the TAG is being deposited to the TAG server wallet, but not to the user account ID, so we just have to check the API and then it should be fine.

Hi - Have just tested sending a deposit - it's just landed and showing zero confirms (yeh yeh - has to have more confirms...) Just letting you know it's working.  I read a few days ago the deposits (To Tagbond website??) will earn 1% per year paid per day - I'm working my way back through the posts and can't find it again, was this correct, or have I misread something?

Hope the worst of the storm has passed now - we need some here - Movie World was evacuated this afternoon due to bush fires surrounding the complex.

Regards,

@ Timelord2067 - The rapid changes in diff caused by mining pools dipping in and out, and playing havoc with block generation and therefore confirms is pain in the ass at the moment that will sort itself out over time...just hoping not too much time. Remember that you get past 10 confirms that you have to press sync to update all the balances.

As for interest yes, we will be paying out 1% yearly interest on TAG balances older than 1 month (similar to the coin), only you don't need to keep the coin in the wallet..we handle that. Reminds me of banking...

You wouldn't wish that storm on yourselves down there..the edge maybe, which is all we got in Manila..

@ paladin281978 - I am not sure I should encourage hoarding, since the idea is to use TAG as a form of rewards currency - it gets more valuable the more you use it, but if no one uses it, then it won't increase in value except as speculation. Quandary.

Some answers for those wondering about the long confirm times..there is not much we can do about it - multipools mining the coin when it is low diff, pushing that up and then leaving it for a while, with not enough miners making the coin to handle confirms..

We could put out a hardfork to make the stepping even less, but then it just hovers around 40 instead of bouncing up to 50, which still means 8-10 hour rounds. The price is too high for the hashrate - if we change it to a per block difficulty adjustment ..well..that will probably destroy the coin...makes a time warp exploit super easy

So we just have to go through this phase untill we have a stable mining community... and it does give us the advantage of building a business that will help Tagcoin grow and survive long term.

Hey, Mark... found another quirk that you may want to look at on Tagbond.  When on the dashboard, if you click on the profile's "photo gallery" tab, you ge a navigation tab for RFID.  But if you click on it, it brings you back to the profile page, and you won't see the RFID navigation tab option again until you click back on "photo gallery".

Everyone else, I've set the fees for Tagmining.com to 0% until December 1st.  While I hope this will bring more users to the pool, my overall intention is to bring more miners back to TAG.  I hope other pool operators consider it as well.  Maybe if we can get miners back, we can get these confirm times down back.  A guy can hope, right...

I did similar promotion to attract miner to TAG.  For the first 100 blocks, giving out 10 TAG bonus to miner for each block they find.
With TAG at this level, I might buy some more TAG for the pool to increase bonus to 200 blocks.  Plus with PPS, miners don't have to wait for the 200 confirmations to get their rewards.   Smiley

Just found blocks 4140 and 4141.   Grin

@ny2cafuse - cannot replicate what you described, but passed it on the my devs to look at money morning and dig into it..Wink

@Dabs - pretty much on the ball..I did a spreadsheet working it out over 10 years. We can hope that maybe in 2 years time with 7 million coins out there, maybe the market would be around $100m, so the coin has to have a value around $15 to support that..

Kudos, mate.  That's a pretty sweet bonus for your miners.  I can't match giving out 2000TAG, but I'll do my best to keep up with you guys  Grin

Might just be me, but this is what I'm seeing:

It only comes up when on the photo gallery tab.

10 years should see 32,175,945.067027 TAG.

@ny2cafuse, Mr TagMining, what's a good GPU or FPGA for this coin? Maybe someone is selling those cheap now.

Hey tagbond, how do I reward TAGs? I created a coupon. I noticed on the rewards the choice for rewarding tagcoins/wallet coins was inside the "Points" option. (Points>Wallet>1 TagCoin) I created this coupon, assigned it to everybody and redeemed it for everybody, also for a seperate account of mine I tried self-redeem and on both occasions the reward was a point, not a TagCoin. I have Tagcoins deposited in the community bank and this was intended to distribute 1 to each member.

FPGA probably isn't a good idea until the FPGA scrypt units are out(horus being the top choice I would think).  I run 7950s and they work pretty well.  I'm down 3 right now while I'm waiting on my buddy to get them set up at his place... lazy bastard.

lol... mr tagmining... classy.

@btbrae - When creating the rewards, make sure you have a TAG wallet created in the community you are using, so that will show in the coupon section for rewards. If you don;t have a wallet, then you cannot choose it, and only the points will show.. What you can do, and this is up to you, is to use the points as your own internal currency, and then convert that to TAG manually later, by letting them give you points in return for TAG... but I think simpler to do it the first way..Wink - You can edit the tagvert you created already, and just change it to TAG..

EDIT - I re read what you said...seems you have it set up right - we will check first thing in the morning (our time) to see why tat is happening - it should credit TAG, not points if that is what you set...

Yeah it was a coupon set to reward TAGs, it still exists I just used it again to reward another 1 point to each member (even though it's still set to reward TAGs, I didn't change it so you could see). I'll let the members convert to TAGs when its sorted with a payed coupon I figured.

Also the actions dont seem to be rewarding points, they are listed on the community public rewards page and are all ticked for go in the admin. (Something to do with users having to be verified?)

A lot of other stuff is working nicely, including transferring tags, creating tagverts (prize draw/competition/coupons), redeeming etc.

Please include Coin Control.

Here is a thread where bitcoin-qt has a Coin Control patch.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144331

Those who don't need it, won't use it.

Also, just for fun, I guess, make a vanitygen for tagcoin addresses. So I can make TDabsxxxxxx.
