I have an old GoldCoin wallet I extracted from my android and decrypted. Key starts with Q. How can I check the balance of this coin? I am 100% sure it is a GoldCoin wallet. From September 2013. I am certain it is decrypted.

Please make a post in the Android support forum and our mobile developer will assist: https://www.goldcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

Hello All - I checked the last few pages before bringing this up here with no luck
i saw this comment about the android wallet, are you guys aware the Gold-QT-10.12.Dmg has an error and doesn't function ?
* third download attempt in the last couple weeks ; no problem joining your other forum but most everything typically handled on bitcointalk
. any help here would be greatly appreciated

2016 Mac - OSX 10.11.13
Fault Error Shown:
" A fatal error occured. GoldCoin (GLD) can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: 22DbRunRecoveryException
Db::open: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
goldcoin in Runaway exception "

Thanks -

This error indicates that the blockchain database files are corrupted.  You will need to delete them (~/Library/Application Support/Goldcoin (GLD)/blkindex.dat and blk*.dat) but DO NOT delete wallet.dat and the client can download the blockchain again once you started it up again.

I like the ideas that are associated with gold. Gold is really the thing that makes a person worry. The idea of digital gold is not new of course, but it requires attention. And the fact that the project is developing rapidly, it means the team is working. And I hope with time it will give good results.
In fact over the years many blockchain development around the gold project, after all, gold is hard currency, is any country is admitted, but cryptocurrency is the future of the relative to gold, many countries are looking for a can effective circulation and gold with monetary attribute substitutes, after all, the transportation of gold is very difficult.

The "gold" part of the name will surely bring a revival for this old coin, I almost forgot about it after the Big Vern facts.

Goldcoin isn't just starting? It's one of the first cryptocurrencies and launched in May of 2013.

how is this coin related with gold?

"Gold" is a word meaning value to billions of people worldwide. We intend to build the most secure and valuable currency ever in existence. In addition, the name "Gold" was used numerous times by Satoshi Nakamoto to describe the inner workings of his protocol. Therefore, Goldcoin is a most logical name.

"We intend to complete the vision of Satoshi by strictly adhering to the principles set forth in his whitepaper. In addition to preserving the principles of the original design, we’ve made several additional improvements to harden the network including the design of a 51% attack defense system, and innovative GoldenRiver difficulty algorithm."

Thus, Goldcoin is the perfect name for a project dedicated to these ideals.

Love the way you promote GoldCoin. Watched some of your video and read some of your articles. And I have a question, this coin is very underpreciated, but why? I think the idea is great and the team is strong. What's wrong?

Yeahhh,

GoldCoin one of the oldest coins, & with ongoing support over the years. That's cool!

'Bitcoin Gold' and other shitcoins, of course, are nothing against this old legit coin

But I'm wondering what can and will I use my GLD for other than speculation?

Thanks
