Two days ago, when the news came up, I've created a thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1668584.0) in the Mining section, but I think this is important to know as it could affect altcoins as well. For those who are lazy enough to check the thread, this is what the Chinese are currently doing: http://www.cybtc.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=16490









I tried to make some calculations based on S9 miners, because no hash power is announced and I came up with ~1500PH (assuming they somehow improve their miners, or they are using slightly better tech). For those of you who doesn't know what that means, I will only say that world's Bitcoin hash power is about 2000 PH. Bitcoin mining is going to be even more centralized, not to mention that the diff. will go through the roof.

EDIT: Its important to say that I first came up with 150PH, but I've miscalculated a zero (Peter Todd's tweed made me do it again: https://twitter.com/petertoddbtc/status/794206373651288064)

I think its time to turn our heads to some altcoin (my best guesses are LTC and XCP).

Predicted over 1 year ago, when Trump was seen as a joke!

I still think Trump is gonna win.  And hopefully he'll actually take office.  He's either gonna totally transform America or finish the job started by his predecessor.  Either way it should be amazing to watch unfold.  Gotta figure out how to get Mr. Trump some IXC.  

Edit:  I just woke up in Europe and didn't realize the results were in.  TRUMP WON!!!  This really was so predictable.  They even had Wikileaks on the job.  Now let's hope something great comes out of it.  Hey, it will at least be very different than the stuffed puppets we've had so far.

Perhaps if you believe that the US can keep its financial mishaps local, then keep believing that this won't affect you.

Oh I believe that the US will make the whole world hurt over its problems. What else can they do other than start wars to turn attention away from their failing economy. I predict Trump wins the presidency then we see wars like we have never seen before.

Many were laughing at him just months ago.  I never got why, given he resonates with the majority of Americans.

I'm trying to imagine Brian Armstrong (Coinbase) making some plausible, logical argument as to why people who use/trade/invest in Bitcoin and Crypto simply never have to pay any taxes and this is the best I can come up with:

Armstrong:  "Uhmm, judge, like Bitcoin is like anonymous, we'll not really but it's a great gimmick for marketing, but anyway, why do our American customers have to like pay taxes and stuff?  Your judgeness needs to embrace the spirit of Satoshi and like stop this "attack" and set a precedent so that everyone will use Bitcoin and Crypto for tax dodging.  And money laundering.  And hookers.  And blow.  That's it I think.  I rest my case."
