What is The Tip Token (TTT)?

The Tip Token is a fully decentralized token built on the Ethereum blockchain.

It provides a fast and simple way to tip anyone around the globe, instantly; thanks to a considerable simplification of the blockchain address system.
TTT aims to encourage showing appreciation to service providers by incentivizing each instance of tipping and providing tangible benefits to tippers.
Moreover, with TTT and the SAN (Short Address Name, see below), every single ERC20 wallet owner will have the opportunity to link his public key to one or several personal and custom names of his choice (a nickname, an email address, a phone number, etc.).

What is the current tipping situation?

Nowadays, the most prevalent act of tipping occurs in the Service Industry, in gratitude for a good service in social settings such as bars & restaurants. However, this accounts for a minority of the tipping use cases. Thus, shouldn’t we also consider the other use cases where people deserve a tip for their services, which represents the vast majority?  Such use cases include; but are not limited to:

- Transport services (RelayRides, Uber, BlablaCar, etc).
- Housing services (Hotels, Airbnb, Couchsurfing, etc).
- Online services & reviews (Wikipedia, Yelp, Reddit, etc).
- Online content creators (Bloggers, Youtubers, Artists, etc).
- Face to face interactions (A neighbor helping to move out, a stranger helping to fix the car, etc).

For use cases such as these outlined above, there is no fast and natural way to tip these entities in an effort to show gratitude. This is where our idea comes into play.

What is The Tip Token solving?

The Tip Token and platform aims to solve the issues highlighted above by the following unique ambitions, setting us apart from the other organizations in the digital currency space:

- Considerably simplify the blockchain address system by replacing the traditional 40 characters public key which will be utilized to identify an individual’s wallet, with personalized Short Address Names (SAN) attached to each wallet. This removes the complexities of not only remembering one’s personal wallet public key, but also allowing for more accessible input when conducting a transaction.
The SAN technology is based on ERC721 tokens technology : every SAN is an ERC721 token. This technology is currently used by the CryptoKitties game.
Thus, if a wallet holds a SAN, the Short Address Name is automatically linked to it. Moreover, every time a SAN is created, an image (the Sanage) is created and associated to this SAN and thus to the wallet address owning the SAN.
We are currently developing a marketplace where users can sell and exchange SAN.

- Encourage tipping by rewarding the tippers through various advantages provided directly by the content owner or service provider. Discounts, services offering and various other advantages will encourage occasional tippers to become regular tippers.

- The TTT platform further contributes and encourages the use of TTT tokens as a means for conducting transactions using TTT's Proof of Action algorithm. PoA rewards users for consistently using TTT as a value transaction by airdropping TTT to top users according to the number of transactions they have conducted per month. Wallets with the top 20 highest amount of transactions each month are chosen as part of our reward program. Currently, Ethereum mines 178650 blocks every month. This block number will serve as a countdown each month, readjusted to match current month’s Ethereum hashrate.

What are the main address simplification milestones?

There are 3 important steps that need to be described concerning the blockchain address system simplification:  

i) First of all, we will deploy the Tip Name Service (TNS) on TTT's platform, allowing everyone to create a SAN and link a simple address name, a social media username or even an email to their ERC-20 address.

ii) After the TNS, we will deploy the Custom Name Service (CNS) on the Ethereum Blockchain, which will allow every ERC-20 token to use short and personalized address names directly on the blockchain; in order to replace the existing and complicated ENS (Ethereum Name Service).

iii) Finally, we will develop specific name services for every other blockchain.

Token Distribution

The total TTT tokens supply is 600 Million. Below lists full breakdown of the distribution:

- 65% of the tokens will be distributed to investors.
- 15% of the tokens will be reserved for the ecosystem & airdrops.
- 20% of the tokens will be blocked for the team.

The tokens allocated to the team will be blocked for a certain time: 50% will be unlocked in December 2018 and the remaining 50% will be unlocked in June 2019.
These tokens allocation will be used as a compensation for the team and will serve as funds for further developments we have not released yet.

Unsold Tokens

Our main goal is to sell all the tokens allocated to the Initial Token Offering but if we do not achieve this target, we think it is fair to reward the TTT community by airdropping a part of the remaining tokens to the sale participants.

When will I receive the tokens?

You will receive the tokens within a day after your contribution.
We have already started distributing TTT bounty tokens.

Is KYC required?

In the crowdsale : NO. However, we will need basic personal information that you will fill when you register on our website.

Referral System:

TTT being a community token, it is fair that we include and reward people contributing to its wellbeing.
For every person you refer, you earn 100 TTT per ETH your referral spends in the Initial Token Offering
If you are referred by someone, you also earn an extra 20 TTT per ETH you invest.

Example:  Jon refers Nico. Nico invests 10 ETH in the Initial Token Offering. Jon earns an extra 1000 TTT and Nico earns an extra 200 TTT.

There is no limit regarding the number of referrals one can get.

Lottery system:

Everyone that participates in the ITO will be eligible to enter a bonus giveaway lottery following their crowdsale contribution. This lottery pool will have a starting amount consisting of 500,000 TTT tokens donated by the team, and any remaining unused tokens that were reserved for our referral program. This pool’s total token amount will be evenly distributed within one week following the end of our Initial Token Offering, and given out to a randomly chosen 10 contributors.

Since the project heavily relies on user adoption it seems like it could be one of the tokens that would actually be useful and beneficial if some tokens were airdropped to all Ethereum addresses.

The maximum amount of contribution set for private investors is also good to avoid one person or group of people controlling the token's prize. The problem is now solved and the images are visible.
Indeed, there are one or 2 other tipping projects but what makes us different is the fact that our solution will simplify not only TTT's transactions but every single transaction on the Ethereum blockchain; before being extended to every other blockchain.

Moreover, exchanges will be at start the only place where users can buy and sell TTT used for tipping.
We can already tell you that TTT will be listed on at least 3 exchanges after the ITO is over.

3) Growing the community:

Because The Tip Token is built for the community and forged by it, we want to gather as many users as we can around this project.
In order to achieve this goal, we launched the bounty program you can see above and we will organize monthly challenges and airdrops when the tokens are successfully distributed.

More than a simple tipping currency, TTT is used as a way to motivate people to tip in exchange for several rewards and discounts.
Companies, services providers and content creators will be able to easily create and edit the smart contracts (built on the Eth blockchain) they have with their tippers.

Example:
An admin on Coinmarketcal logs into TTT Platform, setup a new smart contract stating: "if a user tips more than 100 TTT a week, he joins a whitelist and gets events before non listed people"

Bitshares only allows people to register an account name (on their exchange). You have to pay for it and you can't use it outside of their exchange nor their blockchain.
TTT Custom Name Service (deployed on the Eth blockchain) will let literally everyone owning an ERC-20 wallet link it to the custom name of his choice.
Then this custom name will be usable from and to every ERC-20 wallet.

Moreover, the tipping aspect being a major part of our project, we will spend a consequent part of our budget creating new partnerships with content creators and expanding online and offline; which differentiates us from other tokens.
