Hello everyone,

I would like to suggest an improvement:
A button like the Merit one however with a negative effect, an button to tag spam/crappy posts where the wait time between posts raises as the user receive more spam tags.. A "shut the fuck up button"..

The wait time can be doubled after every new tag, in that way, or the user stop posting shit or he will have to wait hours/days/months/years to post again.

You can limit this tag option only to legendary members(or mods) to avoid abuses.. Or mods tags can have a higher weight, idk..

Well that, kind of, sounds like censorship. I mean if the post is shitpost you just report it to the mod, otherwise a simple demerit butto  (as you can see in my post)would just be enough.

It's really bad idea, imagine you report an abuser, and he (maybe with friends) de-merit you.
Also, the rank limit is not enough cause even some legendary here are spam poster or already tagged as redtrusted.

This is a good idea though, in your statement. You said that the option will be available for Legendary members and Moderators only, we'll this is its disadvantage. Because legendary and Moderators can't check all the threads and posts made in this Forum everyday. There are thousands of posts that is being created everyday and it is gonna be difficult for them to monitor each one of them to look for spam posts. Also, not all legendary are trusted. Their rank can't prove that they are worth of some stuff like this, as we can see there are Legendary with Negative Trust too.
Well, giving this option to lower ranks member will be a problem too. Because some members may use it for bad habits like tripping their friends or whatsoever. Maybe choosing trusted Members will fix the problem. But there are not too many trusted Members here in the Forum and it is a problem too.

So harsh, but yet it can be to discipline the members of this forum.

It can be helpful to the admins and upper ranks to monitor. The improvement will be just like a suggestion to the admins and upper ranks, it will be still up to them to do necessary actions since we have various perception and standards. Theirs will still be followed.

but not all legendary members here a professional
if a spam / shit post exists on them
what is the solution for members who are not legendarys rank?

You've got the best point. That "shut the fuck up" button would be also another risk of thinking of the moderators. It could also cause another repeated topics and spam of the members like the merit system. Many would have a debate about that for sure. So let just wait till the mods would agree with this suggestion, but I'm already satisfied with the work of the DT members. All shitposters and spammers can't escape with their powers and tagging red is more better than that, and the OP must be forgotten that there is a SMAS blacklist for all shitposters cannot join signatures. Because all of the spammers were just forced their selves to post just to reach their qouta in a week for the payment.

You report an post and then the user make two new ones with the same quality.. They don't get any punishment.

The merit system is almost a joke, there's a lot of people that make a lot of spam trying to get 1 merit ("I'll create 50 thread and with luck I'll get some merits")..

Ok, instead of Legendary members you can select the more merited members to do something about the spam, they could be "sub-mods"..

Honestly, I'm a bit annoyed with spam.

I believe this would be a common occurrence. Many account farmers are known to control 10+ accounts, and shitposting everywhere. If we allowed any account to be able to demerit people, regardless of a rank, a sr. member who tags an account would instantly get 5x more demerit from the farmers and their low ranked throwaway accounts.

The power to punish members here should remain with the staff in my opinion. Giving this power to all members will result in a number of problems. The members who are to cheat the system will get an option to take revenge from members who are reporting their accounts. There are already options here which allow every member to report shit posts to moderators. That is sufficient but I think even 1% might not be using that option currently.

Some good users won't be able to speak for years because of retaliations. Bad idea.
