I have put in an order at btc-e to buy some bitcoins with my litecoins. It has been 36 hours since I put it in and it still hasn't completed my order ("filled" it).
I contacted btc-e support and they weren't very helpful. Is there a chance that my order won't ever fill? It is very important that it does fill as the prices have fluctuated such to the point that I will profit several hundred dollars from this transaction going through.

I need to know if it is best that I simply cancel the order now or whether I should continue to wait it out. Either way my money is on the line.
Appreciate your help folks!

What price did you put your order it? That may have something to do with it.... Do you see it under your "active orders"?

untill there is an order from a buyer you wont sell them.. exchanges dont keep a mass amount of bitcoins and they dont take the risk.
the way exchanges work is just a place for people to buy and sell your not selling to the exchange your selling to another person
if the market price goes up then its because people are buying at higher prices and when it comes down people arnt buying and are offering lower amounts
its pretty complex to figure out in detail

as always your at the mercy of people who are buying and selling. litecoin is up and down right now between 0.01083 and 0.011 anything in that area will get filled eventually anything higher depends on the market
