I have a question regarding the "Betting" section on the site.

I understand its a tote/pool/parimutuel system but there appears to be some inconsistent outcomes with the final odds and margins.

For example, in the Levante V Valladolid soccer match on 31 Aug, the final odds were:

Levante 1.73
Draw 2.01
Valladolid 2.41

The "over round" or "vig" on this market is a whopping 149! (A pure fair odds market will equal exactly 100)

However, in the Villareal V Real Madrid match the next day, the final odds were:

Villareal 3.35
Draw 3.59
Real Madrid 1.47

The margin on these odds is about 126 (still a very healthy margin but considerably better for the gambler then the Levante match.)

Its not my place to question Freebitco.in on how to run their business but the difference in profit margins from one event to the next does appear erratic. Its as if the site is taking widely different cuts from each individual event instead of say a flat 15% for example.

Does anyone know whats behind this? Rounding errors for example wouldnt explain these differences. Am I missing something?

The profit margins are not erratic. It is not fixed odds betting it is a parimutuel betting system. That means all the money goes into a prize pool, we take out a 5% rake and then the rest is shared out among the winners.

Fixed the spelling errors for you.  BTW,  how do you provably fair a lottery with an unverifiable list of ID's?  You dont.  It's not a provably fair lottery,  it's only a provably accurate roll.  Whether the roll lands on a real ID is a completely different matter.  Anyone that tells you they have a provably fair lottery is just outright lying to you.  You cant prove ID's are real or who they belong to without KYC.  You can only say that they exist.  Proving they are real isnt possible with an anonymous service.  So any "lists" that they provide are just smoke and mirrors.  They are completely worthless.

An entry in a DB doesnt cost a dime more than what it costs for the db hosting.  There have been 233 lottery weeks,  of that,  maybe 1 or 2 people have come forward to say they won something of significance in the lottery.  Thats pretty good proof right there in itself that most of the "winners" are just that,  completely fake.    Besides,  I find the lottery to be a complete waste anyway.  It's totally pointless.  It would just be better if it went away completely and was replaced by more referral percentage.  At least that would motivate more people to promote the site more than they would from something they never win anyway.

I am not sure of fake IDs, but managed list of lottery ticket owners that eligible for enrolling a specific lottery draw is more or less "exist". An example scenario would be someone who referred other people years back but didn't touch the site since then and his players are still playing thus he get free lottery tickets via referral system. There were quite a few lottery winners that have posted in various threads on the forum. Most obviously prefer to stay anonymous. There's whole thread full of free roll big winners that have posted screenshots and the link to verify their rolls.

I deposited 0.007 BTC to my freebitco.in account more than a year ago and have been earning passive interest since then. When I needed 0.001 some time ago I withdrew that amount from the site without any problems and with the lowest fee possible.

This site is surely not a scam, but it will always have haters saying bad things about it because this happens to anything which is popular and prosperous.
