As you can see from the diagram above, the are over 4 billion active internet users, and surely most of them don't have spare money to invest in Bitcoin. But what they can do is claiming the faucet on freebitco.in. It won't make them rich, but at least they can be proud to be Bitcoin holders. Regardless of the amount, for some it's a psychological thing, which makes you feel better overall.

Don't these people from poor countries pay money for the Internet they use? Don't they need some device like a PC or a mobile phone?
I don't think a person who is starving can afford to pay money for Internet. Faucets are not enough even for paying the Internet expenses.

So, it means still about 1/3 of the world population does not have internet, so you can imagine that those who do, there are some just living just a bit better than the poorest people of the world.

And no, I do not think everyone pays for internet. I get very basic internet free (very slow) and you can have a very cheap phone that is not even a full smartphone.

You are saying the %99.5 of it was "givenaway" but considering there is 5.75 million tickets sold even 50k of it being bought at 25k satoshi each would equal to 12 bitcoins, which means around 100k tickets bought regularly, I am not even talking about the part where you guys given away tickets to people who gambled 50k satoshi, even at 5 million of those equals to 2500 bitcoins gambled, sure there could be wins as well as losses but on average at 5% you should be looking at 125!!! bitcoins, which equals to close to a million dollars.

Why would he lie? He already told us many times the website is doing great in general. What is he going to gain now for saying that the lottery wasn't a big success? To me he is just being honest about what's going on.

It's not possible to say for sure if it was profitable as the income is 5% of the increase in turnover caused by running the promotion. We have done well over the last 6 months but you can't know if that was due to the Lambo or other factors.

I figured with that many tickets sold it was pretty definite but there is a difference from the promotional allocation and people buying, if they were all straight out sold then it would be clear enough.     Also big difference from a margin on any product and actual cleared profit after various costs, its not exactly clear though gambling is supposed to be a good business to be in.

    The big question and doubt I've heard many times as criticism for Bitcoin in general is how would it fair in a harsh economy, a recession, hard money.   All thats been true for almost a decade now is central banks inflating and nannying the economy so as to stop it falling over, eventually none of us can stop the tide so Bitcoin will face harder times for sure imo.   Weak FIAT or easy money is a bonus for crypto and much of tech Im pretty sure, going back to the original tech boom that was part of the story.

I got that in the mail and its not a problem by me.   I used to have Freebitco account for years with no email and fairly sure I lost track of it at some point when distracted and who knows what balance I had as price rose so much it might have been a good figure now.  Its fairly sensible to register properly and I understand why they really want people to do that so they get individuals as business not the enterprising multiple personality types :p

The biggest factor driving volume on the site is Bitcoin price and the general level of interest that goes with that. We always do a lot more business in a bull market.

I would like to know how the amount won by users is calculated.
If it's the total profit, then the website has lost 194,000 bitcoins. It's impossible.
If that's only the bets won, the amount lost is 376,000-194,000= 182,000. The total profit of users would be 12,000 bitcoins. This means that Freebitco has lost 12,000 bitcoins.
I think I am missing something.

Actually thats a really decent chance I'd say, better then most lotto odds so .00147 % I think equates to a 1 in 677 chance or did I do that wrong.   Surely not as .01 is 1 in 100
  Is there more then one prize, no doubt I'm making some basic error or its a case of how its written, 5 mil tickets does make the odds alot longer then that.   I get very confused when some nations use multiple decimal points which is where I use a comma.    This is how massive space missions have been lost in translation and made in error, greater minds then mine have been befuddled by simple maths convention.

Just to give you an example, before the lambo (which started in may I think) go back 1 year, may of previous year there was lets say 1000 bitcoins wagered (making up the numbers) then on June there was 1200 then on July 1400 etc etc and on may when it started it was lets say 2500 and as soon as it started the increase skyrocketed to 3500 instead of expected 2800 for example, these are all examples of course but if something like that happened then how can we say that "we don't know if it was due to lambo", if you check previous increases and then lambo month you can easily pinpoint when it increased or if it increased.

You did not get it, the numbers does not yield correct result for sure, it's more or less for marketing purpose. 376,000 includes stakes for both won/lose bets, 194,000 is the amount won back on total of 376,000 spent on stakes of both winning and losing bets, this includes winning amounts are reused for betting again and counted toward that total wagered number, the real amount used for turning around would be much lesser. Simple math, since the site edge is 5% or 1/20 then the mean amount of 18800 bitcoins are used to wager that total 376,000 count of bitcoins and the site's profit is within 18800 bitcoin.
