It's a good idea, in my opinion. It's up to the organizers to decide, of course, which prize looks more attractive, but I have an impression that peeps hanging around the crypto world would prefer Tesla to Lambo. Also, while in the case of winning Lambo ppl take the money instead, I think they would really take the car if it were Tesla.

Less than 2 days away to the second lambo giveaway and I wonder if we will get a forum winner who will announce or is it going to be another quiet winner? I will not blame anyone for keeping quiet if you win that much money! These days, people will all be your friends to hope for a bit of it;)

We do not know if the next winner will be coming from the forum because of its large number of non-members. But, I'm sure that if the winner ever came here it would be a matter of talk and a headline, that is if he announced his win here. But if you are the winner, do you have any plans to share it? hrmmm

Even if he tells you how many, how would that matter to you? I have quite a few myself, but I've run myself into the ground to get 0.5% of normal lottery total tickets and still won nothing. But hope always holds out. My chances of winning this is bigger than winning the lottery I also play back home.

The Tesla idea I do like in theory but in terms of brand and publicity, its a far less established brand.   As this is a global campaign with a reach required in countries that have no regular conventential advertising possibly in their area, its not a given that everyone knows about Tesla and has the respect that Lamborghini has earnt over many decades.   It is the classic rival to Ferrari after all, Tesla is exciting as something new and I like it as a tech thing but I do think there is a bias in their appeal to western countries where as petrol still allows you to go anywhere at all.   Lambo is the meme for a reason.

I guess it makes sense to disable bets once the end of the month is coming closer, but I think there are better ways to visualise this.

Its probably the neatest way to do it but the time factor could be non linear and heavily weighted to estimates beyond 1 week from the end but still allow those confident at the end to add a bet.  That could be useful in increasing the prize because its very possible for BTC to be erratic on a particular day or week at month end.   The time curve could be exponential decay with its sharpest gradient right at the end, its a classic dilemma of access vs fairness, balance.

I agree that replacing Lambo with Tesla might look like a step back, because Tesla costs much less than the glorified vehicle. But what about 3 Teslas? Considering the current prices

The current Tesla car line (Model S, Model X, Model 3) ranges in cost from $35,000 – $124,000 before tax incentives for electric cars.

you can fit 3 Teslas in $200k, starting from the most sophisticated one for the 1st place, and allocating 2 more moderate ones for the 2nd and 3rd.

Being a poker player, I think such a pattern would be more attractive, because I wouldn't play in a tournament with many participants where the winner takes it all. I'd prefer to play in one with at least 3 paid places.

Also, as far as I know, there is no lottery with one prize only. And it is so for a reason. Even your lottery on freebitco.in has 10 paid places.

Hate it or love it, few other things worth 200k dollars have the same kind of pull, can't disagree. And then when the big boys at Consensus (IIRC) pulled out all the stops and parked all those gleaming Italian machines, just reinforced the association with success in crypto.

You can go further, or newer, but it is what it is;)

Honestly I always get free tickets thanks to my affiliates and never won anything, that has been going on for about 4 years now, and I do not mind. Few years ago I had my own faucet rotator (when faucets were a big thing) and got myself a lot of affiliates in many faucets and only this place still stands, all others either closed or all my affiliates left, only this place still has my affiliates either gambling or claiming free or whatever and I end up with something.

Considering this has been going on for a while I assume I had a total of millions of tickets between all weeks and never won anything. Does this mean I should stop hoping? I will never stop hoping and will try to keep on wishing one day getting something. Even if I win just once and be in top 10, it would definitely worth all the wait.

Definitely true. I don't have any affiliates, I somehow think that the golden ages of doing that have passed.
I'm just doing it all on my own and so far it's been a bumpy road. However, after the big crash, I started treating all my digital assets as 'lost'. If I lose literally every satoshi, that will suck, but it won't be costing me any more money than it already has.
That means I also don't really care if it builds up really slowly, or dimishes, because it's not money that I intended to spend in the supermarket next week.

That said, if a win like the 200k comes along, I'll gladly reconsider my point of view
