I imagine that amount is constantly changing by the activity of other players also.

1. Some dont really understand BTC / cryptocurrency therefore stop after few tries and never come back

I had that way back when i did a brief amount of mining around 2011 via a website and didnt think anything below 1 Bitcoin counted as anything much worth keeping.   I probably had 0.1 quite easily or close to that and should have just saved it to a personal  wallet.   If you want predict average behaviour or crowd dynamics, its mostly about convenience and everybody is always distracted towards something else and not really aware of the fine detail to crypto or many concepts.   Imo its  about utility and what does this do for me, its fair enough most people are tired out from their main concerns in life and stumble across things before moving on in the majority.   I came back of course but technology is an interest of mine, I should have given more attention earlier.  People will come back to BTC even if they leave at first so long as its a useful product and reoccurring in their line of sight.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Go ahead if you would like to have some small interest from this site but to be able to live only relying on the interest from this site is nothing more than a fantasy. If you can get 50 btc, that means you got tons of reserve business that help you made it to 50 btc and you wouldnt even need 4% annual interest from this site anymore

Plus if you actually earn 50 btc, you wouldnt want to spend your whole live with 0.005~ btc a day to spend. Trust me on that  Tongue , no one works so hard to earn that much money just to stay low with $50~ per day to spend ( at the current rate )

@leea-1334 while the sarcasm was fun to read, but people need to realise that they cannot make a living from Freebitcos interest, hence I would suggest all to use it only to supplement their existing income, and also to get realistic about how much they can earn from the daily/yearly interest.

That was sarcasm? seems like real for me and Yep people need to wake up from that fantasy  Tongue
I still see interest as a good thing but you and I could be different, I do not live in a nation where people earn with dollars, and in fact us dollar is very valuable here. Which means if I can save enough money in the freebitcoin wallet, I could potentially make enough money to survive with it one day. Even if I do not survive with it, 100 dollars per month is a major change in my earning since I make about 400-500 bucks a month, so it would be quite good for me.

I understand though that people do not really gain anything with it when they are already living in very expensive places, USA, UK, Germany all those type of places have 10x salaries than me but also 10x expense as well which is why they may not find the interest anything major for you and just the fee stuff whereas having 20-50k range in my account would mean not working for a while.

It seems you dont get the point of this conversation. first of all to get that much interest means that you would need to risk it. In this case, you will be depositing into this site.

There is some risk involved in depositing that lot of money , tons of things could have happen to this site. I like this site and I claim here quite often but tons of stuff could have gotten out of control in the future

Assuming you have 1 million usd to put on this site in return of 4% annually which is $40,000 and you said this could mean alot to your live. It is much better to just keep that 1 million and spend $40,000 extra per year

You could live up to 20+ years until you ran out of your 1 million. At this case no risk involves, no one even knows if this site might stays for the next 20+years .  Tongue

While I trust him, I am also aware that there may always be some stuff that could happen to freebitco.in which is beyond his reach and knowledge.

Stuff like that happens only once and when you get caught while your money inside, it is the end.

Exactly this !

Anyone else's instant withdrawal been pending for a LONG time? Mine is still unconfirmed after 6+ hours, and normally it's been very fast with freebitco.in (like less than 1 hour to get at least ONE confirmation with an instant withdrawal). Looking at the transaction on the blockchain, it looks like a really low fee was used, like 19-20 sat/Byte. Why is the instant withdrawal this time so much slower and seemingly such a low fee used as opposed to the other 95% of instant withdrawals I've done with freebitco.in in the past?

Can I do anything to speed it up? Feels like I have to wait many more hours, maybe even a day or more?

Thanks.

Better try to reach out support and tell them about this issue or here check if @TheQuin or @freebitco.in PR available then send them message surely they will try to solve your issue and you will able to have your instant withdrawal very quickly.

It wasn't a low fee when it was sent out but then after it was sent there was a long gap between blocks being solved. When that happens the mempool quickly gets filled with transactions with higher fees.

Source: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,2d

It's just part of using Bitcoin. However good fee estimation you use it isn't possible to predict what is going to happen to the mempool just after you send your transaction. Because we use one input and spend the change on the next transaction CPFP means the fees of all our queued transactions are averaged and when the mempool clears out a little bit they'll all get confirmed.

I am pretty sure even The Quin himself wouldn't advise you to do that.

While I trust him, I am also aware that there may always be some stuff that could happen to freebitco.in which is beyond his reach and knowledge.

Stuff like that happens only once and when you get caught while your money inside, it is the end.

I wouldn't get into giving investment advice. Mainly because risk tolerance is a personal thing. To one person 50BTC might mean risking their entire life savings and to another person, it's just one block of many they mined with their CPU in 2010.

Thanks for the explanation @TheQuin. Well, I guess all I can do is....wait. Hopefully it gets at least ONE confirmation in the next few hours? Who knows.

Any chance you guys would let us customize our fees in the future to prevent a situation like this? For really urgent transactions (like this one), I would have willingly and intentionally selected an absurdly high transaction fee to ensure it something like this didn't happen.

We have low transaction fees because we consolidate all our deposits and batch together withdrawals making the amount of data for each user's share in each transaction smaller. That does mean that all user's transactions are dependant on each other. To allow individual users to choose fees independently would mean we have to change the entire system resulting in higher fees for everyone. It's a balancing act between faster confirmations and higher fees and we think with the nature of our site the majority would opt for lower fees and the occasional wait.

I'm a frequent user at the site and I actually always use the slow transaction option when withdrawing and I've always found it to be the cheapest option at all the sites I play on and trust me I play a lot. Sure, I have to wait up to several hours before the tx is even broadcast but if I want it urgent I can request instant anyway.

Even a few weeks ago when network was so full most other sites were charging 50k or even 100k. and it was 3600 on FBC?

Congratulations, its never really that easy imo.   However I completely lost this time not that I had high conviction but its been disappointingly middle of the road to end this month.   Maybe its because we approach a holiday or likely its not 1 event.    To learn something from this I do think most guesses seem to be weighted towards the most positive pricing close by, people are optimistic so they were right but theres alot of guesses here and the odds werent high.   I do think it pays better to speculate of lower pricing or testing of lower prices to end July perhaps, so long as its actually right and reasonably going to happen and since we lost 50 day and 200 day average is below its very possible  still.   That only gives us 8500 area as a target, for a bet it'd work better if we rose then returned back in time for the close of the month, I might wait for that first.
(Ditto some time in future cumulative sentiment could be too negative and the price spiking will make a good bet, seems worth remembering)

Politics events has the democratic nominee bet very soon, does the vp candidate also get announced then and is that a viable bet to contest.      I've placed my bets on the outside chances, I dont expect to be right but in 2020 anythings possible seems like.

Even a few weeks ago when network was so full most other sites were charging 50k or even 100k. and it was 3600 on FBC?

it is mainly because many of those sites are trying to make a profit from their withdrawal requests too. also these types of business similar to what most exchanges do want people to keep their money in their accounts and by having higher fees they discourage withdrawals.
this site on the other hand has always charged the network transaction fee and nothing more.

There is a FOMO brewing...

Quote

Politics events has the democratic nominee bet very soon, does the vp candidate also get announced then and is that a viable bet to contest.      I've placed my bets on the outside chances, I dont expect to be right but in 2020 anythings possible seems like.

It's better to bet once the deadline is near, even if the multiplier is smaller Smiley

Oh, you're betting on Democrats?

For the first time in history, I managed to correctly predict the BTC range. Grin

It was nervewracking when it almost slipped past the lower bracket.
Its is a part of the betting experience. But hey, congrats of making a proper guess and winning it, hope it was worth it. Just remember that instead of giving yourself palpititions and a headache, its sometimes better to leave it on the market for spot trading and not betting on prices. Both have their own Pros and Cons, but the player who survives long is the one who has nerves of steel.

By the way these political betting games are also having a no-brainer thing, who knows who is going to win, only time will tell. so they are similar to a game with a negative expected value.

The weird thing about the fee questioning is the fact that you can literally claim the whole fee with just free faucet claims, so you would basically not pay a single cent on anything at all. Sure you can consider it money lost because otherwise it would be in your account, but you can't claim this place has fee's that bothers you since they are giving it away.

Plus this place has one of the cheapest fee's I have ever seen, they are not slow neither they are quite fast, so at the end of the day they are doing it both cheap and fast, you can't ask anything more than this. I had another question, could we have more options with our reward points? I have some and I think very soon I will be capable of changing it to satoshi, however the options of what we can do with it is quite limited, could we have more stuff?

The weird thing about the fee questioning is the fact that you can literally claim the whole fee with just free faucet claims

Lowest fee to withdraw from the site right now is 1690 sats. If you get 21 sats per claim , that would be 81 times claim / 81 hours.

If you claim 8 times a day that would be 10 days of claiming just for the fee.

Ignore this sarcasm aside  Tongue

Plus this place has one of the cheapest fee's I have ever seen,

Cant argue with this, its one of the cheapest

I had another question, could we have more options with our reward points? I have some and I think very soon I will be capable of changing it to satoshi, however the options of what we can do with it is quite limited, could we have more stuff?

Such as? Even if they add another option for the RP, most people wont be able to exchange them. The most viable idea would be to change them into satoshi or if you could claim for more than 12 times a day, go for RP bonus instead ( I use this sometimes when I got lot of free time )

I do the same when I know and see that my RP is enough to activate bonus rewards. So far, I am saving again because of my daily use of it. My only technique for the benefit is to set a timer every hour but of course, when I go to bed, I stop. I just noticed today that there are minimum points needed to encash to satoshi which is 10K. Has it been before?
