Im betting that the gov. will work out some sort of deal.. I think he still will go to trial but maybe they will let him take out what it costs him to defend himself with the seized funds if he gives up the code.. it would be a win-win for both parties.. DPR will have all the money he needs for a good defense and the FBI gets the key...

That seems the most likely scenario if they cant find the private key or break it...

But, the Govt wont exchange the key for lower charges or time, that im certain... I bet the best deal that they will provide him is 40 or so years, which is a life sentence for a 30 year old. So, its going to trial...

Edit: this gets me thinking.. Why in the hell didn't he have something set up just in case he was caught.. Like retain a great lawyer a year ago, transfer a million dollars to this big lawyer just in case he gets arrested. Or give it to a family member.. Doesn't make sense that he didnt have a strategy in place if he was taken down.. If he didnt have a strategy, this goes to show how arrogant and cocky DPR was. He really thought he was untouchable...

Maybe he did.. It just doesn't make any sense that he wouldn't have an account somewhere in the world that a trusted friend or family member could get a hold of to help him in an emergency.. I guess we will find out as time goes by..
