Well, "feared" is not the world I should use to describe those who earn millions of dollars due to their investments, mate. Precisely, the volatility of BTC make of it one of the smartest investment, but you have to understand the market. By taking a look at the data you shared, I just can see an opportunity, for investing in bitcoin is the most profitable idea you can have. Of course, it is really unwise to buy bitcoin when it is at the top, but, on the contrary, think about those ones who had btc when it was at $400and lower!!

I do not think it is feared because as the time goes by more people are investing on it. Yes we all know that Bitcoin is a highly volatile and there are times that you just want to punch the screen because the price swings so fast. Now that crypto currency investment are getting popular as an alternate investment as you mentioned big names has also have their opinions about it. We know that some thinks that Bitcoin is a bubble and some thinks that Bitcoin will go to the moon. There are mixed opinions with crypto currency but my advice is  you should not listen to them you should do your own research and make your own opinion and decision.

very true. it is very scary that you could have bought bitcoin at $1000 last year and in about a year you could sell that for $20000. in other words if you have invested $10k in bitcoin in 2017 you had $200k in 2018. that must give you nightmares for sure. not to mention that the same $10k in 2015 meant $1 million in 2018 and don't get me started in a longer period of time from back when price was $10
