Is it worth it? I am using an old p4 computer with no standalone gfx card and certainly no openCL support....

I mine at like 900khash/s.

I guess I don't fully understand the concept yet, so I'm asking you....

Is it worth it?

Will I recieve any bitcoins?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

The strait answer is NO!  Even if you mine on a pool it would not be worth it.  You would only get roughly 0.02 BTC per month which is equal to about $0.22.

Damn. Looks like I'm going to have to sell some gaming accounts I no longer use to try to get some Bit-Coin so I can start gambling.

Anybody interested in a steam account with CoD:MW 1 + 2, All half-life games, Left For Dead, and TF2.(Maybe free now? Bought when it wasn't.)

We can use a middleman service! I'll post in the marketplace when I'm considered "active."

Thanks for the answer regardless guys! Topic can be closed.

not worth it at all. Probably using more power than coins you make.

Yeah, I unfortunately figured this out after I read around this forum and other places and realized what the hell mining actually was.

Thanks for not laughing at me. Good thing there is this section after all, eh?

It limited me in here enough that I got edumacated!
