Newegg (Canada) accepting Bitcoin

I doubt that Canadians have issues spending their bitcoins with all the ATMs they have on the country but I thought it's worth sharing that It's now possible to pay using your bitcoin on Newegg.ca (using BitPay).

It's a shame that so many of the places accepting Bitcoin are US-based.  Shipping to Europe from the US and Canada can be very expensive.

Also, the products which tend to be offered for Bitcoin, such as technology, tend to have significant taxes.  You can get lumped with absolutely massive fees if you try and buy from places like Newegg.

Still seems like BTC merchants aren't doing a good enough job meeting the demand.

This is good news for Canadian, but it looks like whoever wants to accept bitcoin as payment has to use bitpay or similar service.
It is not really something I would call "bitcoin accepted", still, something is better than nothing.

This is a good news now that the price of bitcoin has crashed and is well under 7000 dollars. However in Canada and US the use of Bitcoin is widely difused compared to Europe, in fact in Canada and US the Bitcoin is Legal while many countries in Europe are Neutral towards bitcoin.

I think more of these kind of websites like ebay.eu or amazon.eu to start accepting directly bitcoin and not through purse.io like amazon. This will give a good boost to the bitcoin price and we can easily see 30000 dollars once many international commerce websites like ebay and amazon integrate bitcoin massively.

For ebay this would be a big step forward to make buyers and especially sellers to pay less fees now. When someone buys a 500 dollars product, ebay takes almost 40 dollars as commission. Bitcoin can solve this isue.

They used to accept Bitcoin in the past, but stopped due to Bitpay having issues with Canadian banks. Nice to see that it's back, though it would have been nice to pay with BTC for my new build when it was 20k+ CAD.

Well, yet, its still a good thing to see they are still accepting it despite all the issues with the banks and FUDs going on now.  I bet the banks must have thought that after the issues have been resolved, Newegg will have a change of mind  . I must say the Canadian are really open minded on some issues regarding cryptocurrency, here they are not. Newegg is really one of my favorite site; its quite unfortunate I can't purchase with bitcon over here with it.

Wow, this is such a good news to hear for Canadians people. Now they can use bitcoin to buy from Newegg. ca without any issues. I hope that my country will create a good site like Newegg to allow us to buy using our bitcoins, As there is a lot of problems with visa cards loaded with cryptos, people can't use their bitcoin to buy what they want from the internet.

Also, the issue was that they lost their 'banking partner', so Bitpay was no longer to settle purchases in CAD. Therefore, Newegg stopped using them, as they don't want BTC and or USD. Odd thing is that Bitpay still doesn't settle in CAD, so I wonder if Newegg is using them to actually take BTC (yay!), or if they're taking USD for whatever reason.

What I can't find any logical explanation for is what is their reason to accept crypto only from such and such categories of their customers, be it certain citizenship or whatever else? Doesn't make any sense to me...

Oh! I basically base in US but work and study took me to the Australia. Will be here for a year or two before moving back.
I know about Newegg offline shop but you know Its always a pleasure to spend some of your coins to get stuffs online easily. And you know how lazy we folks can get at times to walking down the stores to shop.

Good for canadians now. Atleast they may use the bitcoin with the help of newegg. I have seen recently bitcoin accepting e-commerce client purse.io taking charge to move towards the various countries including Asia and European countries.
Even Canada also in that list mate.
So I believe few option they have about to use bitcoin and other cryptos now. May be Justin Trudeau look into more about crypto currency and make that as a legal money to use everywhere in Canada.

i seriously doubt anywhere like that is accumulating bitcoin. they're a razor thin margin business who buy every single thing in from places that'll demand settlement in USD. removing that USD from the payment chain would require them to be paying out huge amounts from their own pocket.

the places that might be able to afford it are businesses that craft stuff from scratch themselves. everyone else is a slave to their supply chain.

First step in the right direction for a website that is trusted by millions for their CPU builds and peripherals. Also, looks like a small bit of promotion for mining since paying in Bitcoin becomes an option, while I'm here, eagerly waiting for their global store to follow suite. Let's hope they don't take much time for that since they have a running version on the Canadian store.

the overstock guy has a very public grudge against the existing financial system that fits neatly with the bitcoin narrative which explains all of their moves.

i've never heard a squeak from newegg. it's a pure marketing move as they know there's plenty of free profits bitcoiners want to spend. they'll be out for dollar profits and nothing else like most other places.

This seems to be service that has started accepting bitcoin long back itself. Even if it's a fresh information I don't find this to be special. Because, Canada is one of the country which had grown through digital development and support the cryptocurrency as well digital growth than other nations.
