What going with this coin? Waves made almost 4x for last 2 weeks (from 1 usd in the end of November and 3.89 today). As I heard they have some important updates last time?
Also I seen this article, where Waves was mentioted as one of few most promised coins:

Waves is developing a blockchain layer for new DECENTRALIZED INTERNET with WEB3.         
Along with Vostok ico and BetterTokens that is some news ! ! !

This is interesting news and a $120M investment is quite significant. That's why I don't understand why they would have the need to do this:

Very interesting solution. It turns out that each holder of the waves will receive approximately 20 cents/1waves  in coins VST.

Reasonable considering that some stocks give nothing but not exceptional either .
18 mln for marketcap of 400 mln means like you said circa 20 cent / coin . Imagine if you 4000 $ in waves, you should receive like 3-4% which means like 150 $ ? For 1000$ likw 40 $ or something in that range . I would not risk though in  buying a coin that's already top 19 in the hope that it will dethrone Dash for instance . a range of 3$-3.50$ should be a reasonable value as we stand today but I don't believe it will or should go to like above let's say 5.50

Sometimes when dev start new OP than it could make some people confused to understand what is exact date of the launch of any token. There is link to the old topic of this project but at the moment it growing really fast which is good thing for all holders.

Waves started to move first just before the start of this current rally. It is outperforming every other market constantly. It was heavily sold out and was suppressed for extended time period. When such market breaks out this is what happens what we are watching and enjoying for the hard times. That was opportunity for many those were expecting this to happen.

Yup, the ATH was over 14$, about when Bitcoin had its own ATH. After that WAVES has fallen until nearly 1$. That's ~14x fall (Bitcoin has fallen "only" some 6x), so there's plenty to recover.
I almost lost my hopes about WAVES, I'm glad it's back on the right track.

Yes. This is a great offer. Despite the fact that Vostok is a private blockchain, I think the coins will become more expensive. And I will wait for the distribution of coins.

As your leased coins doesn't move from your wallet; it's obvious that leasing doesn't prevent to get the airdrop.
A bot will just check your wallet's balance and adjust your airdop.

Also imagine if everybody stops leasing/mining ?
