sorry but i cant wach black and white movies

Then watch some Wong Kar-Wai films. They're in color!

There was a day when I had your attitude. I didn't want to watch black and white films. I didn't want to watch subtitled films. And so I was left with Hollywood studio driven material like Gladiator. Enjoyable, but not quite higher cinema.

I am watching subtitled movies, but cant watch b&w, just cant. I tryed several times with no success

So which Wong Kar-Wai film are you going to watch first?

Dunno, i will se what is offering to me. Which one do u suggest

Chungking Express or 2046 for starters. Pick one or the other or both. Both work well as stand alone films. However, 2046 is also loosely part of two other films which would be worth watching if 2046 intrigues you. Ultimately, the more you put into a Wong Kar-Wai film, the more you get out if it.

Definitely 300 Smiley

It represents a small group of people standing up to a much stronger opponent and altough they lost they sent a message that they will not surrender and the story about them lives on for over 2500 years Smiley

MUBU conducted their own poll among members to rank the greatest films ever. I'm happy to report some of the results relative to my own recommendations:

3: Sansho the Bailiff (Kenji Mizoguchi)
9. In The Mood for Love (Wong Kar-Wai)
16. Tokyo Story (Yasujiro Ozu) (tied with others)
18: Early Summer (Yasujiro Ozu) (tied with others)
18: Floating Clouds (Mikio Naruse) (tied with others)
18: Late Spring (Yasujiro Ozu) (tied with others)
18: Woman in the Dunes (Horishi Teshigahara) (tied with others)
18: Yi Yi (Edward Yang) (tied with others)
19: A Brighter Summer Day (Edward Yang) (tied with others)
20: Heaven’s Gate (Michael Cimino) (tied with others)

300 is good movie but it is low budget movie. I could be better if they had more money to film it

I've been very surprised by the quality of German and French films I have watched recently.
The diving bell and the butterfly, the intouchables and zum geburtstag have all been very good. Whenever I watch hollywood films they are just trash (avatar included)

Anything in 3d would be automatically excluded from my list

True. But those who have watched more cinema, more quality cinema, more critically acclaimed cinema, listened to those who know cinema, studied directors, watched more films outside their own country, watched more films from different periods, discussed and analyzed films at a high level, and read about cinema and directors:

1. Do know more.
2. Are worth listening too.

A guy who has only really tasted fast food doesn't really know food. A guy who has only driven Chryslers doesn't really know cars. Would you listen to either for food or car advice?

That is a very typical and predictable list to be found on a nerdy tech site. Monstrously predictable. Typically mundane.

Sorry man. There's a bright side though. You've got some great stuff to discover if you want to look.

You misunderstand. The ones you mentioned are your favorites because you haven't explored enough cinema. That's all. I envy you immensely. You've got so much great stuff to look forward to seeing.
