I had the idea to make my own bitcoin "card" that I could put in my wallet, just like any other card. I bought these Scotch self-laminating sheets, came up with a design, sealed it with the Scotch thing and cut it to size with my paper cutter. Very easy-I was happy with the results, too. I wanted to put the private key on there, too. I realized I could do it and cover it with a tamper-proof hologram INSIDE the lamination or outside. I chose convenience over security I guess you could say. Its a paper wallet-I plan to use it more than once (nail polish remover gets rid of the hologram residue-this things literally going everywhere with me though and I don't think many people carry around nail polish remover). If anyone else feels inspired, I have a few holograms and a bunch of scratch-off stickers I could donate. Anyways, here it is:

I won't lie; I like the idea and convenience of it. This would be a good idea to push bitcoin into the mainstream spotlight for the average person, as they don't understand anything about bitcoin just as much as they don't about the currency they use day to day.

Pretty cool to spread the word about Bitcoins!
Many people have started doing this and also 'gift' bitcoins in cards!

Amen to both of you. I've given friends not familiar w/Bitcoins, BTC bills (off bitaddress) as gifts. A couple of them really are into it with me now.

If anyone needs/wants a hologram and/or scratch of stickers, let me know. I have more than I know what to do with-and I'll feeling like I'm doing something positive lol.

Nice idea, I think personalised/custom-made physical Bitcoin stuff is great. How do you store the private key under the hologram - a QR code or folded up paper or something?
