I just found this site http://bit.gg from a reddit post. It looks like a fun way to gamble on eSports events, which I enjoy following.

However it's hard to tell if it actually pays out! Has anyone used it with success in the past?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Never heard of them before, but a Google search reveals their Facebook page:

Never heard of them. If you want to play it safe use a well known bookie like bitbook.biz
