I do not understand much about this new arrangement. Who can tell me if I want to become a member, I have to achieve something on .merit, politeness, fmerit, imagination, virtue, coins, karma. How do you get new rankings?

Is it coincidence that the new regulations of the forum is made on April 1st? Nope.
Mr. Theymos made this new set of requirements not to fool the members of the forum but in order to solve the problem in bitcointalk.
But I would like to say that after a week there are lots of issues and protests that will be made in this thread again. Like what happened on the merit system. Well, it does not matter at all since Sir Theymos knows what is better in the forum!
It might be a difficult to go with the flow because I am alsi a newbie but I am here to learn and I am hoping that someday, I will reach the higher ranks.

Expect the unexpected! A lot of complains will flow in the forum and a lot of criticism, suggestions and praise will be made. For sure, this will become more difficult to us new members.
Merit is almost hard plus all of this stuff. Anyways, just be positive!
May I ask Sir Theymos, is it necessary to cope up those needed requirements to rank up? What is the attainable numbers of that stuff in order to rank up?

It actually is a real stat (counting instances of "thanks" etc. in posts). But he has a lot of posts.

If this definition of Virtue did not satisfied you. In my own words, virtue is your morally good behavior. The numbers after it determines your good morality here in the forum. The more virtue points you have, the more good person you are (according to your behavior in this Forum).

My apologies Sir. I thought calling "Mr" will only result as one definition, and it is "Respecting", by the way it still is. But I realised that the position of "Sir" is more higher than "Mr". And Sir theymos's position is higher than a Full Member like me. Actually it doesn't matter, as long as you respect a person from the bottom of your heart, calling him/her using any name will be just fine.

I am a known and proven campaigner against witchcraft, and curer of curses and other spells. How can it be that my virtue is only 9? By my quick calculations, it should be at least over 9000. Please remedy with much haste.

Lol, I had been looking forward to this years April fools prank!

Some of these stats would probably actually be useful to keep (if they are not too resource intensive). For example, the Coins stat might help detect shills in the ICO/altcoin section if it measured how many unique ANN threads a user has posed in.

I think the karma rating might be useful, depending on how exactly it is calculated (upon serious implementation).

This is really good. Thank you once again, Theymos. Posters who can't make a post without involving the curse and F words now have some restrictions. Politeness takes care of that. By the way, is there going to be a bot to search out the "Sir" words which expectedly will become ubiquitous now?

On "Imagination", I think Theymos will have to device means posters can easily upload pictures directly without going through another app like imgur. That's cumbersome. Many a poster like me always have that as a barrier.

On "Coins", how did you arrive at that because I can't remember buying any here.

And then, you have successfully opened another floodgate of threads that will follow after the merit system. It's a new business of making posts count.

Question, does it mean ranking up now doesn't solely depend on the merit system?
