I'll watch these days buying coins Ravencoin. I hope it will be a good idea and investment will meet the expectations for the future. I wish the team that all the ideas they implemented as conceived and wanted and went only forward.

Not fishy, this is what happens when someone starts buying up all the offers.
My comment is anecdotal. I meant that the amount bought is more that is what has been available in the past of constantly around 20btc. There is just under 20BTC available today after all that buying. So I'm putting the thought out there that it maybe something like wash trading. Dont think so, this Vincent still has all the rvn he bought in his account, currently more then 63.000.000 RVN, so no wash trading. He never sold, only bought more But is he buying it from his or his own groups stash. Investigators is it possible to track the source of the RVN and see if they are connected? Maybe "Vincent" is a Zambian with insider information.... "As part of the MOU, MLG has agreed to deliver to the Ministry certificates of title in digital and printed form by November 30, 2018 to serve as proof of concept for a systematic, streamlined process to scale up the country's land titling program. Plans for the full scope of the project include developing a blockchain-based land titling program that includes a mobile platform and capabilities for mobile payments. The platform will accommodate streamlined regulations and data collection to assist future government decisions around city planning and land use." BWTFDIK

I hope you are all getting ready to mine in a few hours to catch some quick Raven before Nicehash Phuks come in and steal them. Should be a good drop in Difficulty and while the Hashrate is under 1TH/s you will hopefully get more than usual.
I.e. its had two sessions at 33,661diff and blocks per minute averaged around 0.98 for the first round and 0.38 on this round where it aims to be 1.0. I'm not sure if the high block rate before these two rounds added to these two low rounds has the coin behind or in front of where it should be. My guess is behind (don't want to do the math right now) so it will want to catch up - meaning low difficulty.

Crazy day of volume. Good to have another exchange option...it was sorely needed...can't imagine what a working coin and actual exchange would do for the coin value. Anyway, got a 399 sell in and am going to see where the NH dumpers take it tomorrow (or if Vincent shows up again). Trading is my new mining until some better diff adjust stuff comes through.

It took 3 and 1/2 days to mine the 2016 blocks. And the next difficulty dip will be cleared within 8 hours. So happy 8 hours mining for every one NH especially

The Diff won't be a big dip. Nicehash though already going toward 1TH of hashing as opposed to 200 GH yesterday.

Later edit: total hashrate from nicehash is now 2.6 TH.
Diff 13k (not 9K at least like last time). Hashrate from NH went to 1.5 TH for X16r (not all goes to Ravencoin but clearly most of it will).
Let's see how it goes now?
One thing is clear however. All that nonsense of FPGAs was just that...nonsense. Real culprit here is NH.

I know nicehash will be cancer for RVN mining, but this is just crazy.
After this hours of 5 Blocks per minute we will drop back to Diff >30000 and it will take 4 days to come back to another 8 hour phase of low difficulty.
What are the thoughts from the devs about this behavior?

This is cancer. Almost 3TH/s now. I am sick of NH.

Like mining on FPGAs or on GPUs makes any difference, if the users of either FPGAs or GPUs point their machines to NiceHash, only bad things happen. At least FPGA users are less likely to be script-kids who will throw their hash to NH. Also it's not possible for FPGAs to mine on multi-pools, those pools automaticaly point miners to Raven when the profit high (=diff is low) and then leave when the profit gets lower (=diff is high). This is not going anywhere btw... we hit 2.7 TH hashrate, in a few hours the 2016 blocks will have been mined and the diff will shoot up to about 60.000 I'd guess, and since the profitability will nosedive, all the miners will leave. With sadness I had to sell 75% of my RVN since I'm afraid of what will happen when there will be no miners to support the network, and I've been gathering them for months. Maybe when there will be FPGAs miners supporting the network, the NiceHash's hashrate won't be enough to create problems.

I'm not sure why everyone is so surprised by this. I guess because when I started mining RVN diff was 27K everything below has been a gift.
If it really bothers you just buy coins in the interim, or be happy pulling in whatever and continue to hold.
Don't get me wrong I'm hoping they make adjustments similar to what was done for Bcash when it was going through the same issue.

The problem is that at some point, the ones who actually hold the network (us) will get tired of being screwed like this and will quit mining the coin. At that point, in a case of 40K difficulty you'll have hashrate of maybe 2-3 GHz and you'll never end 2016 blocks to get it back down. That is the moment a coin dies .

I remember something similar happening with Electroneum after it forked the Cryptonight algorithm and it went from ASICs to GPUs. For the first 2 days the difficulity was too high for the few GPU miners to handle it and the devs themselves had to purchase NiceHash power!

You have no idea how quick you can destroy a coin with huge potential when acting bullish

I've never bothered with NiceHash... how can you see the hashrate that they provide? Do you have to be registered?
