Cheers! I'm with you on the lottery thing. Since I only have 30MH/s pointed at Raven which is around 100-120RVN a day I've gone onto a smaller pool for the fun and hope.
About the disconnect thing did it happen to you when 3i redirected us?
I was wondering if it was that and you need to point to the pool directly - which I never tried.

Well Double Byte - I hope you aimed your mining like you were thinking - it's been a "solid" couple of days on Virtopia. Shaba-daba-dingdong!
lol - Yeah Same with omegapool 300 in 24 hours where I should be just over 100. It's quietened down now but it does that.
I still have Virtopia on my mind as a backup if it stays quiet here too long

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ravencoin/
with the above chart, please tell me what I should do at the moment.
Because I would like to invest money into Ravencoin after looking its roadmap, whitepaper, recent progresses and future potential.
I need your help.
Thank you.
There was a bunch of us in the old ANN who mined this with no expectation of value until December and maybe the middle of next year. We were trolled actually that value would not come.
It was a surprise the interest in this project grew fast, then when OTC trading, crypto-bridge and CMC arrived, we suddenly had visual value. THe price now is quite stable up and down with small movements. That is quite a good thing.
I'm holding on to the idea that the real value is still to come and the info provided by the Devs and Bruce over the past few months confirms it for me. But that's my opinion. Some will agree and some will not.
They do talk decentralisation but if it is backed by Overstock, that means it is centralised. I'm ok with both. Because with the upgrades coming I think it needs some organised development so it can happen. Best of both worlds hopefully.
If you haven't watched the Dev Meetup and the Tron/Bruce interview watch them.
Then tell yourself what to do. Take the risk of it being worth nothing or the yahoo moment when the moon slaps you in the face.
I have a few trolls returning at the end of the year to say "haha told you so" or they'll see the price and I won't hear from them. - Do you think I will hear from them - that may answer your question.

I don't see why the backing of Overstock would mean it's not decentralised anymore?
Because the core devs work under the Overstock umbrella and OSTK investing millions of dollars. It's not just for fun. Don't get me wrong I still like Ravencoin either way. I think it is FUD fuel for the trolls, haters and the sensationalising media which can cause price drops, then the unsure sellup etc etc. If it can battle through that then to the top of the hill we go (...moon later)

Nice one - see you there.

Posted this at the pool announcement thread, but realized this thread is actually active:

Can someone please explain the discrepancy between the amount paid out since it's 0% fee?

https://s9.postimg.cc/vd8p2wngf/hashrate.png

https://s9.postimg.cc/xukgaax3z/rvncalc.png

Total paid for past 24 hours is 130 Raven. According to http://ravencalc.xyz/ with 40 Mh/s I would get around 228 Raven in 24 hours. That's 42% less earned than what is projected.

It's just not an exact science. Especially with the variance the Raven algo has.
In the perfect world where everyone has the same hash rate, Same OC settings, luck didn't count and on the same pool. The calc may still be a bit off.
I'm sure they must update their calc with difficulty changes. Does Whattomine show any difference?
You may need to tweak your rig and change pools and\or mine longer to get a result that you are ok with.
My 30+/- MH/s I was getting 120-150 a day when the difficulty was higher on Threeeye(Now Closed)
I had something profound to add at the end but my train of thought was interrupted by my 4yr old trying to sword fight me with a lightsaber.

Bingo - which pool are you on?

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked.

“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

Not exact science okay. But a 42% variance is a bit extreme, no? And it's been over a week like this. Honestly wondering if the 0% fee is being hidden. Just realized forgot to mention this is for RavenMiner.com pool.

ravencalc.xyz is fairly innaccurate and generally over estimates by a large margin. I have implemented a more accurate calculator in my miner, give it a shot if you'd like.

Ravencoin Miner: an optimized open source miner created specifically for Ravencoin.
v2.5
Optimizations to all hash functions:
bmw, jh, blake, groestl, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, echo, shavite, simd, fugue, hamsi, shabal, whirlpool, sha
v2.4
Cubehash and Keccak Optimizations
Can color RVN/day line with secondary release Ravencoin Miner v2.4 (COLOR)
   Note: See color.txt
v2.3
Fix miner not submitting shares when Hamsi was first Hash function!
6% increase in overall hash rate!
v2.2
Kraww!
Added estimate for RVN earned per day (displays every 5th share)

I would try a different pool. I've mined at Ravenminer for a while. I earned about what the calculators estimated + - 10ish%, but my hash rate is a bit larger than yours. Same at Suprnova too. It's the smaller pools where I had better results - like RVNPool (closed), Threeeye (Closed) and now Virtopia.

Try a different pool on the same Continent that you live in.  Ravenminer and Suprnova are the large pools. Yiimp, Panda, Cryptoparty are medium pools. Pickaxe, Virtopia, and minepool are small. Watch out for any pool under 10 GH.

Already using your miner. It estimates 221 Raven per day. I guess it's time to switch pools. No one else is having these earning issues with RavenMiner.com pool?

yeah , I have been  on RavenMiner for a while now , I keep having to start up my miner when i was on supernova, don't know why but it would stop, so I switched about a week or so now. I guess I have been happy enough , it seems like I get about what is projected for the rig cap I am running ( 5 1070s ) , getting  my 37.5 mh  using enemy 1.03  . Its producing steady , and not crashing, so I think it is around where it should be. It would be nice to get some better luck , so it is tempting to switch to a smaller more local pool, its all about your personal preference, Mine seems to be (slow and Steady wins the race) , I need more HASHING POWER!!!!!

I didn't concentrate on your numbers as a lot of people come here with different variances so it was an answer for others to consider also.

Don't rely on the Calc sites. I'm sure some pools do some shady shit. But you either create your own pool, solo mine, or find the pool you like and use it.

For those of us that do NOT use reddit or have any inclination to use reddit is 'tough titties buddy'?

Or will there be a transcript here for those that are actually on BCT?
