They simply didn't want to stick with hard dates or clear promises that's why answers were somewhat general types. Which we need to understand in specific situation to watch and this way we understand. There is of course risk but where is not risk in other markets. To not regret later loading some wallet and forget, think you have lost money in gamble. This risk worth so I did in early stage, will see come it returns.

Does anyone know if the x16r algo has any anticipated resistance to quantum computers?

I understand it's all a guess at this point but does the random order do anthing to hypotheticaly help protect the blockchain from these things in the future?

thanks

I'm talking about the fact that those who dig and constantly drain the accumulated - dump the price of a coin down, you saw the price on the exchange ?? a little more and fall even lower. The coin is now in the top on profitability / plum, so it is constantly being sold. Sad

% TDP means nothing - there are plenty of cards with beefy cooler and higher than nvidia's reference TDP.
State an actual wattage when comparing power draw.

Thanks for the feedback,
As I said, "Perfect test? No."
And I think that TDP referenced above is a "good enough" proxy. Same for JackIT's tests.
It's all just reference for other miners to tweak their results. If you have a system of mini-cards or different type of cards - adjust accordingly
But hey, thanks for the shade.

I'm not saying that the test is invalid. What I'm saying is that one brand of 1070 can have 151W TDP, the other one can be 180W. 80% of each one is a totally different number.

I totally agree, thus the averaging across 21 of them.  Even within a brand, there is a big range. I've got 8 MSI 1070TI Gaming Gpus, and they are so different from one to the next. Each GPU needs different adjustments. And I took one Zodiac 1070TI Amp Extreme out of production and gave it to my son for gaming because it was so hard to keep from crashing. For that GPU no OC and 90 TDP even then it didn't like RVN's algo at all.

Increased power efficiency

I'm brand new mining RVN.  I'm going to use this one first.

I wish Silent Miner would allow Newbies to send messages.

I used this on a small test rig with two PNY XLR8s and three Rog Strix O8.  All 1070s.  Five graphics cards.

Power draw not including the monitor is 560 to 590 watts.  I have the cards set at 70% power limit with MSI Afterburner.  No OC or memory adjustments - I don't do this.  Using Ravenminer pool - would prefer Suprnova.

Seems very stable.  I don't like ccminer but this is a good version.  I'm running five small rigs with various cards - from 1060 to 1080s.  I've been shifting rigs around, putting in curtains and other items to prepare for summer heat and modem/router crashed this morning.  No way to tell efficiency for now.

Very stable and power efficient.

Well, you can say "natural growth" all you want but it isn't, sadly, a 2008/9, it's ten years later... not promoting your project, rejecting participating in the broader market (large exchanges = more liquidity) won't make RVN stronger - it's the opposite I think. Also take note: it's the open source yet the most important feature/layer is developed as closed source (so-called "asset layer"). I want RVN to be the top 10 coin but... it's not the 2008/9 anymore!

Any Ravencoin fans in here want to sell me on RVN? My tax guy recently suggested it and said he has heard from a few big dogs that it will go big this year. To each their own! Just wondering what RVN can do in the real world?

Halo Platform is one of the fastest Blockchains I've seen yet. They have FREE transactions. 250 Millisecond Block speeds. Smart contracts, Masternodes, blockchain games, and their own high speed DEX with BTC/ETH/USDC pairs. Similar to ETH, Waves, EOS, and more yet with only $1 million mcap. This video showcases the speed and reliability of the blockchain using the DEX, Masternodes (that will soon payout in BTC and ETH), blockchain games, and more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g74d3ixX7E8&feature=youtu.be

Hello there mate
All a bit serious with a bit or irony eh.

Quote
Well, you can say "natural growth" all you want but it isn't, sadly, a 2008/9, it's ten years later...
Better than ICO and hype marketing - grass roots... better quality of follower
What is your idea on how they should have done it?

Quote
not promoting your project,
You mean creating hype and false hope so it pumps ...then dumps?
There was no ICO or premine to create a marketing budget who will pay then.
I like the natural growth.

Quote
rejecting participating in the broader market (large exchanges = more liquidity) won't make RVN stronger - it's the opposite I think.
Not rejecting. Just no ICO or Premine funds to pay (Exchanges want 100K +) - Anyone can pay for the exchange if they want and it will not be rejected by core-devs or the community.
If\when RVN works the exchanges will list them.

Quote
Also take note: it's the open source yet the most important feature/layer is developed as closed source (so-called "asset layer").
I'm happy with closed source for now as this features extensions are unique and the I don't want the ICO cookie cutter stealing right now. I hope they take the trello and newsletters idea from the AMA the other day but release it later which I believe they said they would - that's my opinion as I have read a bit that open source works better in the long run.

Quote
I want RVN to be the top 10 coin but...

Me too but I can wait. I'm even pulling out the old and new resources and re-learning coding now so I can participate

Quote
It's not the 2008/9 anymore!
It's not hanging onto bygone trends like corduroy pants or business-walkshorts, its starting a the natural way compared to what happened last year with all the ICO and the SEC threats (as the core team is based in the US for now).
Put the code out, build a community etc etc.
