*snip*

I'm sure you bring up some great points. Most of which are beyond the scope of things I personally have to worry about or consider. I was just making the point that anyone seeking information in a more real time sense, should check it out in their own personal capacity.

I had not and rarely do think of businesses or corporations when posting or speaking.

My post in itself was not a recommendation of Discord; I only signed up when I began mining Raven. Again it was merely to point out that this is the fastest way to receive information.

Best of luck to your and your business entity with your Raven endeavor.

Points are all any of us can make here Smiley

Raven Has some potential, but is lacking the lustre it so deserves due to the lack of accessibility in a lot of cases where a great many can only access it through their corporate networks. We have been trying to get the websocket based systems (like Discord for example) running through Squid for quite some time and almost EVERY turn we take ends up being a dead end due to the way it coded. FireFox 'seem' to have a workaround here that is coded in it's latest edition, but Opera, Vivaldi, Chrome and others have yet to catch on to the way FireFox handles WebSockets through the HTTP Proxy. Guess which browser we do NOT use in our company due to it's limitations of addons that have yet to be updated? Tongue

Anyway, As for RavenCoin, the potential is there, it is just currently muted by the lack of Developer involvement in these more 'accessible' channels and due to the accessibility of those that are forced to go through the business channels, which is the majority not the minority.

We will continue to watch what happens Smiley

One of the people talking about it on discord is a Moderator from the discord group MrFanelli.

Anyone who is dealing in raven be it mining or trading should definitely get on the Discord group. More information there and rarely any garbage posts to comb through.

Those of us that have corporate networks CANT.

Which is why we stick to Skype. If Discord (or any other of these supposedly awesome products) actually work through a corporate proxy (like Squid), then we would happily do so. All those that can't, won't. Believe me when I tell you that the corporate players are the ones to take note of also, as apps like Discord is one of the WORST apps to use in a corporate environment.

This is why Skype is STILL the most widely used in the 'real' business end of industry.

Until WebSockets based apps like discord can actually be used in proxies like Squid, there will be no reason for a large company to bother with it, unless they have a system where they do NOT use a protected system or Proxy system.

This is the main reason why it begs the question of WHY the corporate that seemingly backs RVN is also part of the Discord system. Makes me wonder how much of their corporate network is actually exposed. Might have to look at that one day and see which is the actuality of the situation here, and which is fiction. Until then, we will keep mining/trading/watching and guessing as to what the facts really are here.

#crysx
Just curious but do you not have internet at home that is not corporate or what about your phone? The phone app works well and gives you all the same info.

Home runs through VPN also, as I work 16hours a day, 7 days a week.

Mobile apps are more of a pain than they are a valid method of accessibility, which is why I stated the above.

I believe these Apps will improve, but until they do, they are just another app that needs not to be messed with for security reasons.

All good though, as we will more than likely include this coin in our network eventually, just not access the Discord/WebSocket style channels in doing so. It seems to have a great deal of potential, though time will tell.

I'm mining 8 Nvidia 1060 3gb with Samsung ram. Using SMOS with enemy miner on suprnova. Getting 180 coins for day for my rig. Got the intensity set to 21. And I have suprnova paying out every 6 rvn. Is this round about the same as what everyone else is getting or can I do better?

Forgot to mention I have 150 core and -502 for memory and running at 65w. Fan speeds 75% and GPUs sitting about 65 degrees c

Kind regards
Steven

Those are equihash settings/clocks. You'll want to clock more like for Neoscrypt and up your power limit slightly. Something like:

TDP 80-85%
Core +150-250
Mem +500-600

Then set a fan profile that makes sense.

That should give you a solid boost without raising your temps. Also don't mess with intensity, the default 19 should be fine unless you have really topshelf cards like 1060 GALAX EOC or something like that.

Hey thanks for the help!
I will give a try tonight. One question though. I though memory didn't matter on this algorithm? That's what I've been reading anyway?

Kind regards
Steven

Mem matters with certain parts of the algorithm.

I'm getting absurdly good responses from clocking up core and mem fairly heavily on all my GALAX EXOC cards 1050 TI and 1060 3Gb EOC and close to nothing on my MSI Aero cards so they're sitting at stock but I'm not seeing any weird drops or instability issues that other people seem to be reporting with heavier OCs.

So I spaced out my cards a little more. Maybe a cm or so and it has dramatically helped with gpu heat. 65c at 80% fan speed at 75w per card. I have had it up to 80w and the temperature stays the same so that sounds good doesn't it?

I have some worries about wattage though. I understand that a 8 pin pcie can carry 150w? I have 4 cards running off one evga 750w gold. I have it wired with 4 cards powered with the 2 split pcie cables you get in the box and the risers powered from from the single pcie cables you get in the box but I've added 6 pin to 6 pin dual splitter to give me enough connections. Does that make sense?

I worry that if my 8 pin cables from the psu can only carry 150w and say I'm taking 80-85w per card and my risers were taking 80-85w I would be overloading my cables.

Change your PSU to a 1200W or 1600W ...

You will find you have no issues connecting all four cards to two different Rails on the PSU, and still have some power left over to power the rest of the machine easily at Max Wattage for the cards. In most cases, you will find that over a 72hour period due to the Algo Pairing, the power consumption will go well above what the 750W PSU can supply, and become overloaded. IN a high end Platinum series Corsair for example, this shuts the PSU down to protect the components and stop the PSU from burning out. Other cheaper PSU units just heat up and eventually burnout. Then again, we are talking about Aorus 1080TI Xtreme WF cards here that we have been testing, not the lower end cards, so this could be a very different issue if the 1050TI cards draw much less power. These cards can have a PowerLimit of 375W each and draw a huge Current many AMPS) through the PSU.

Over potential of PSU is NOT overkill, as the PSU may be able to supply the given amount, but will only supply what the machine draws, which is what it uses only.

Heat spacing is only an issue IF there is no forced air between the cards. If you rely on 'just' the fans of the cards without any external air cooling, then the further the spacing you can get, the better.

Yes 2 1060 3gb on a 8 pin to dual 6 pin evga cable. And 2 risers on a evga cable with a 20 awg 6 pin to dual 6 pin adapter. If the capacity of the 8 pin to dual 6 pin evga is 150w then if I run my cards at 85w then will the cables not be overloaded. I understand that the max tdp of this card is 120w. I have been informed that the most profitable way to mine raven is with a tdp of 80-85%. Does that mean I would have to run these cards at between 96-102w per card? I'm running 8 cards off of 2 evga 750w gold's.

Kind regards
Steven
You should be fine running them at 100% tdp as regards your psus and cables. However, it's best practice to have both card and riser running from the same psu, so I would change your arrangement to having 4 cards and risers from each psu, not all cards from one and all risers from the other.

Market cap will be higher close to Ethereum if they achieve all the phases in the video. This is easily $5-$10 per Rvn, could be more.

If Ravencoin had the same valuation as Ethereum currently does, it would be ~$3.50 per coin.  I think this is probably the best case scenario.  A more reasonable expectation might be that it reaches the valuation of NEO, which would put it at ~$0.21 per coin.  I think a low end expectation would be that it has the valuation of something like Nano, which would be ~$0.04 per coin.  I personally believe we will see it reach somewhere in the $0.12-$0.14 range before the end of the year, possibly with spikes much higher as supply is still very low and there are many exchanges left to bring new buyers to the table.

At the current valuation per coin, if you consider coins to be mined, Ravencoin would be the 26th largest coin by market cap.

math feels wrong here...

raven is at 50 million cap
eth is at 70 billion cap

unless raven cap is listed wrong 70bill /50 million is X1400

or $70 per raven or so if it matches eth cap ever.

i expect at least a x30 if all things fall into place for raven which is $1.5 usd

like i said ive not verifed the listed marke cap of raven though , and its not like all raven will be released
in the next two years even

your math seems off

http://rvn.elitehash.net/ has been running along nicely since the beginning. As it's a PPS pool, the amount of other miners on the pool doesn't matter at all. And payout are still sent every 7 minutes. Could even send them every minute with these ridiculously low fee levels...

I'm working on adding EU pools next, and consolidating the pool code as I'm already running these PPS pools for several coins (BTX & GIN also, with BSD on the way)

I'm currently developing an experimental social AI platform

Ethos has partnered with Ravencoin project on bringing of RVN to the upcoming release of their Universal Wallet. They're also promising some RVN airdrop for those who register early, even though you shouldn't expect much here. However, it is still very nice to see RVN being recognized as potential coin with this release. More information are available at: https://www.ethos.io/universal-wallet/.
