Hey guys, sorry for the delay on this but I have finally got some good news in relation to the Explorer as well as a few new features for Gridcoin Research.

I've now added a new dedicated Gridcoin Research page on CryptoBlox that provides you with a new and improved Block Explorer, Richlist, Faucet, Links, Stats and Specs, and more.  It's an early release and there is still much more work to go into it, but the explorer, richlist and faucet are now live.  Have a look and let me know what you think.

http://www.cryptoblox.com/coins/GridcoinResearch/

Cheers,
CryptoBlox

BX not working?

looks like it's still broken :-(

I honestly don't know why people waited till the last minute.

Then let me explain it to you, since you admit your complete ignorance:

Step 1:  Hear about Gridcoin
Step 2:  Buy Gridcoin on Poloniex
Step 3:  Continue your life every day like a normal person, check Bitcointalk sometimes
Step 4:  Go to Poloniex one day and find out:  "These coins are worthless now, thanks for your money dumbass, fuck you."
Step 5:  From now on, make sure to tell everyone that Gridcoin ripped you off

That's how it works.  Glad I could help, let me know if you have any more questions.

You had 6 months, if you did not make the effort to keep up with the updates, then that is your problem. You are the one who is ignorant and lazy!

When I bought the coin, I thought it was a real cryptocurrency that could be used as a store of value.  I didn't know it was a limited-time scam, full of pieces of shit like you.

I already admitted that I shouldn't have bought Gridcoin or invested in this scam community.  Now I am moving on to let everyone know about it.

I went to the Poloniex trollbox for about 5 minutes and somebody else showed up asking what happened to Gridcoin.

So you're a liar.

Would you like to provide us with some numbers showing the total coin supply compared to the number of coins burned?

Of course you wouldn't, because then we'd have a better idea about how many people got screwed out of their coins.

First of all, I am not the admin for Gridcoin, so if you have any problems you can take it up with him!!

So let me do the math for ya.

http://pool.gridcoin.us/CoinExchangeStatus.aspx --> Total Classic Amount Converted: 30,269,813.269 GRC

http://explorer.gridcoin.us --> GRC classic Coinbase Amount:   31555144.7083

31555144.7083 - 30,269,813.269 = 1285331.4393

So that is approximately 1.28 mil classic coins that have not been burned.

The conversion from Gridcoin Classic to Gridcoin POR was announced in October of 2014 and ended on April 20th of 2015, so a few days ago.

Like I said, I don't know what else to tell ya.

So at least $10,000 to $20,000 worth of coins, if your numbers are correct.

Announced where?  Not on Poloniex where people were buying it.  Between October and March, GRCX consistently traded for over 3000 satoshis, going almost to 6000 in November, and then over 9000 in March.  On April 20, the last day of the swap, it was still trading for 4400 before it was delisted with no notice.  All of those people buying and selling on April 20 were unaware of the swap.

If those people buying and selling on Poloniex had happened to check this topic on April 20th, what would they have seen?  Any news about the swap?  I see 4 posts from you on April 20th, and not a single word about all those coins becoming worthless:

It has been on the FRONT PAGE at the TOP of the main site since October : http://gridcoin.us THE MAIN SITE!!!!!!!

Twitter last call on the 20th of April: https://twitter.com/GridcoinNetwork/status/590282370852335616

Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/gridcoin/comments/2wy43d/important_migration_from_gridcoin_classic_to/ this post has been sitting at the TOP on the main reddit page since the start of the conversion.

If you had bother to check THE MAIN SITE, reddit gridcoin page, twitter gridcoin account: you would have known about the conversion a long time ago!!!!!!

Like I said, I don't know what to tell you or anyone else who did not bother keeping up with the news updates!

BTW, I alerted and mentioned to Poloniex on numerous occasions about the switch and they were well aware of it and did not even bother to make any announcements on their exchange, which I personally consider very unprofessional.

yes, and the technology had to change in order to be able to increase efficiency from 50% (alongside scrypt) to whopping 98% of computational power which is utilized for science!
This blockchain is so damn bleeding edge, it took quite an effort to convey our main developer not to drop update releases on prod multiple times daily.
Community had decided to announce and deploy a 6 MONTHS grace period for conversion. Our other exchanges worked with us, Poloniex failed again.
Find an overview at http://uscore.net

I don't know if the GRC classic chain is still running or if anyone is even mining it. My impression was that 20th of April was the cutoff period.

I would have bothered to check, but I didn't know the people running the coin were untrustworthy and required constant vigilance, like you're saying.  Nobody told me, "If you have Gridcoin, you need to check regularly to see if you're being fucked out of your money."

So when people get the new Gridcoin, how often should they check online to see if their coins are being cancelled and made worthless?  Once a month?

When I bought Gridcoin, there was no requirement to have Twitter.  They just took my bitcoins.  So, for the new Gridcoin, are you required to buy the coins with your Twitter account so you can be notified when the coins are obsolete?

Your coins aren't worthless, Poloniex still has them and they can still be burned.  We have no control over how Poloniex conducts it's business or what it announces.  They were contacted multiple times between September (before the process started) and the April  20th deadline and were aware of the changes.  It was their choice as to what action they took with that information.

I have been in contact with Poloniex attempting to help them with the transition and the conversion pool is still active and able to burn coins for conversion, a few of us are still supporting the classic chain with hashes just so Polo can burn their remaining coins.

While I understand your frustration that you can't access your coins at this time, I assure you we are working with them to help resolve this even though the deadline has passed. We want nothing more than for everyone who wants their coins to be converted to have them converted.  It is my hope they will have this resolved in the next 24-48 hours and you will be able to either withdraw your coins as research coins and trade them on another exchange or if Poloniex chooses to open a Gridcoin-Research market buy & sell GRC on Poloniex once again.

So that is approximately 1.28 mil classic coins that have not been burned.

So at least $10,000 to $20,000 worth of coins, if your numbers are correct.
