I agree, purely for advertising than anything else. In other areas where yo u read up on Gridcoin they're always talking about where and how to advertise. Meanwhile clone coins are pump n dumping aka Gollem at the moment.

Gridcoin is a bit different, since it's currently the only coin rewarding BOINC computations and there are over 4 million registered BOINC users. However, BOINC existed long before Bitcoin and the vast majority of BOINC users still don't care about crypto and they certainly don't follow bitcointalk, so some 'old fashioned' BOINC-related advertising is necessary to reach them. But for attracting crypto-investors, I agree, our increased presence here would be worthwhile

Finally it can get some recognition, and hopefully people actually read up on it. Certainly worth more then most coins. Should be BTC, LTC (not sure why maybe im a traditionalist) then GRC.

Some quick info on development:
The code is busy being refactored and optimized.
Development is now taking place in three branches, development, staging and master.
Already some commits have trickled through to master. A major overhaul in maintainability and a new ui is on its way from development to staging.
If anyone is up for it, the testnet is now also being used again to test changes in the development and staging branches to ensure that only hardened and well tested code enters the master branch.

Golem, which is also targeting distributed computing segment, still has marketcap ~14x higher than Gridcoin, despite having less functionality (just a distributing rendering prototype vs fully functional general-purpose BOINC computing platform used by Gridcoin). So yes, I would say there's plenty of room for further growth. The future is in monetized and commercial BOINC projects which will distribute Gridcoin to their crunchers, obtaining a lot of computing power at very affordable prices.

I do not feel surprised there is a price increase on Gridcoin a few days ago saw it has a future, I have not really sold it at the price of 3k satoshi and hope it really get a high price in the near future

If a person first hears about GRC from CoinMarketCap, they click on the Ann link and are sent to an obscure forum whose last post was 2016.

Almost all coins provide a better "quick glance" appearance than Gridcoin.

But if a person does a little research and finds this thread and other resources, GRC is one of the few coins that could realistically surpass btc.

Many people still have a different expectation on GRC because it has the capability which has unique features when compared to other currencies. Yes, in coming days GRC has stability growth where it will attract many people because of development are in the pipeline.
