I occasionally get that. Just delete the blocks and chainstate folder as well as your peers file in \AppData\Roaming\Gridcoin and let it redownload the blockchain. Takes about 5 minutes but it'll be caught up again after that.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Ok my client seems to be stuck on block 30603 while synchronizing ... what do I do now ? (I already tried adding the nodes and also tried upgrade command (which fails) along with restarting the client ....... none seem to work)

In a command prompt type the following:
Code:
1) cd c:\Program Files (x86)\Gridcoin
2) gridcoin-qt -rescan

If that does not work, do the following:
Code:
1) Open file explorer
2) In navbar type: "%appdata%" (no quotes)
3) Open "Gridcoin" folder
4) Delete everything except "wallet.dat" and "gridcoin.conf"
5) re-launch Gridcoin

Did that but it seems i lost an unconfirmed block that I had mined :-(

If you lost it, it means that it hadn't been taken into the chain. Since you got left behind, you may have found that while you were lagging so when you caught back up to the chain, it deleted that block since it wasn't finding it now that you caught up.

Actually I was synchronized with the blocks when it was unconfirmed and then I restarted the system .. upon restarting there were problems (and then later repairing by deleting blocks, chainstate and peers it worked) ... it was no longer there when I resynchronized.

Actually I was synchronized with the blocks when it was unconfirmed and then I restarted the system .. upon restarting there were problems (and then later repairing by deleting blocks, chainstate and peers it worked) ... it was no longer there when I resynchronized.

What happens is that at some points the client will get stuck at a block (even though it says that it is correctly synced with the network), since the client thinks it is synced and is not receiving any new blocks your miner continues to mine on the block that it's stuck at until either it solves the block or you restart the client.

If it solves the block your client will say that it is accepted because as far as it is concerned this was the latest block on the network, but when you restart and re-sync properly the transaction will disappear because it was never valid in the first place and was never even a part of the original blockchain to begin with.

The easiest thing that I have found to do is to check in on my miner occasionally and compare the times between the last time a block was detected on the network and the current time - If only a few minutes have passed then everything is probably fine, if it's been 30 minutes or more since the last block, odds are pretty good my client has stalled and needs a re-start (usually with the "-rescan" option).

sigh.. solomining 550kh solo to get my first block and join the pool, first day no luck (1 stale Sad )
Hope theres something in the works to make the pooled mining easier. I like the idea of the coin but it cant be a success if its near impossible to mine solo and to pool mine you need to solo mine first.

Mine is about 550 khps but im just getting about 2 on avg ... guess its quite a non-linear relationship .... hopefully will settle the skew in the longer run.

Hey! Difficulty increased this night from 0.8 to 2.5. More miners are coming to this crypto =)
P.S. Would buy 5k GRC at 0.01 BTC per 1k GRC rate.
P.P.S. I can run again Google Trade Sheet like this, but for GRC\LTC or GRC\BTC.

Aeron 1.250.000 CryptoBonusMiles Giveaway, 250 Winners, 5.000 CryptoBonusMiles per winner and guaranteed airdrop for ARN holders until 30.11.2018.

I suppose a trade sheet would be good until we get on one of the exchanges.

I stopped using cudaminer last night just to see how many coins I'd continue to bring it just using the wallet.
No change at all.

So now my video card is free to do other stuff while I bring in gridcoins. Yay Smiley

Probably wasn't finding any big chunks of coins because I only have 106kh.
