i had to reistall gridcoin.exe (7.77 version) and to reistall boinc and now my boinc avg daily credit are 0 (zero!!) why???

Did you recently do an OS re-install...? When I re-installed my OS BOINC recognized my computer as a new machine and gave it a new host ID. Log into one of your BOINC project accounts and click "computers on this account" and see if there is a second entry for the same machine. If there is then your machine has a new host ID and that host ID has never done any work for BOINC projects.

Hey TribalBob, can you put a list of all the commands for the gridcoin.conf in your tutorial thread?

every time i launch gridcoin-qt.exe, it close any prompt i have already open. How can i stop it? If i don't wrong, there is a string to add to .conf...isn'it?

closeconhost=false

Good idea, will do that now...

I've upgraded both the clients using CRP. now both the client on laptop and my pc are the same versions. i can see the transaction on both of them but the transaction takes no confirms at all...
Just to resume.
i tried it 3 times, with smaller and bigger trades.
Sometimes the transaction doesn't appear at all, sometimes it appears on both the client but receives no confirms.

As I am CPU mining it seems I can't use an encrypted wallet. So if I want to keep my coins safer I'd need to transfer them to an encrypted wallet using a different address. What's the best way to do this on one PC? Run a virtual machine and have two instances open or is there another way?

Thanks

exacly! that's exactly what happened!

i merged the new host id with the old one, but for now gridcoin still say 0 boinc avg daily credits..

Hmmm, have you tried re-launching both clients with the "-rescan" flag...? Or have you tried "Rebuild Block Chain" on both clients...?

Jeez, I'm sending out beacons every 26 minutes but getting nothing back from cpu mining...

***EDIT***
I restarted my client which got rid of some pending tx's that weren't confirming and my beacons also seem to not be going out every 26 minutes anymore, so if there WAS an issue, I think it's fixed...

130M hash rate already. Does this include the processing power from CPU miners? I do not think so or maybe I am wrong.
Hi Lmue,
No, its only the GPU side!  I think maybe we should add the CPUMiner into the getmininginfo reading so the users can see the increased Mh/s.  Now that we have 276 CPUMining projects already!

@ aysyr & Gridcoin -  thanks for the replies.

This may be a face-palm moment but I don't have any GRC in my wallet. For some reason  I thought the beacon would loop the payment back on itself and so not require a balance. Please can you/someone send me enough GRC to get started  Roll Eyes

GG6XHgjJYmzaSxAeRTeRRhC1g3Smgk1QDh

If this fixes the issue 'll add a post to the 'How to CPU mine' thread as I think the current explanations miss this out.

I have Gridcoin v1.1.5.7-g71-prod

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I will add it to the tutorial, sorry for the troubles.

Just a quick update for cpu miners...malaria.net are performing some maintenance and you will see a "-1" error in Projects Console. This error means that your wallet address is not equal to the BOINC username. However I think it is due to the maintenance..every machine I CPU mine on shows this error since this morning for this project, it was ok earlier and I didn't do any changes. It shows the creedits correctly for other projects.
So I would suggest for everyone to run atleast 2 projects to have backup in case one goes down temporarily.

Hope this helps,
Andrew.

Great work btw!

I just realized today all of the GPU users are verifying API credits while only the poolminers are required to do that at this time and we are probably hitting the 5 APIs quite a bit (even though we do stop querying after 1 success, Id like to quiet it down so we don't cause extra traffic).  Ill fix this in the release tonight.

The Linux version is almost ready for beta testing.  It's finally running - all it needs is an installer.

Hmmm...

I decided to join the internal pool but seem to be having a problem.

I set poolmining=true and I found my first pool block (I received ~3.5 GRC) about 4.5 hours ago but I have not received ANY payments since then. If I should be receiving a little bit of each block found by the pool then I should definitely have gotten more than this, right...?

***EDIT***
Do I perhaps need to wait for my found block to fully confirm before being entered into the pool...?

How to compile on linux: https://github.com/gridcoin/Gridcoin-master/blob/master/CompilingGridcoinOnLinux.txt

I just tested this method and can confirm it's working. Now going to work on installing BOINC and getting mining to work then will have the linux mining guide posted hopefully later tonight.
