I've just upgraded on one machine. While waiting for sync (76419 of 76665, 11 hours behind, feels stalled), I looked at the first page to check for any changes. Great coin logo, if anyone hasn't seen it yet. Anyway, I noticed this:

------------ snip -------------

Sample gridcoin.conf
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9332
server=1
poolmining=false
gen=0
PORTS
RPC Port: 9778
RPC Port (testnet):  19778

---------- end snip ---------

which makes it look like PORTS (upper case section) is part of the conf file. I don't think that's the intended effect, and I imagine the apparent conflict between "rpcport=9332" and "RPC Port: 9778" could use an explanation.

Close to having a stable release; we had to increment minimum protocol level to 72000 to stabilize.

Testing now.

Mandatory Upgrade:
Version 2.0.0.0/9.0:

- Incremented network protocol version to 72000
- Removed cpuminer payment system

To upgrade if you are in safe mode:

Go to the desktop and copy a shortcut of "c:\program files (x86)\gridcoin\grcrestarter.exe" to your desktop.
Edit the shortcut, rename it "Upgrade GRC", and modify the Target textbox to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Gridcoin\GRCRestarter.exe" upgrade

If you do not sync to block 76785+, rebuild the block chain.

Do a get getinfo to ensure protocol version is 72000.

- Try deleting your program directory
- Install the MSI
- Repair the MSI

GRC has been frozen on Poloniex for some time now--PM'd you about a compile error.

Just wanted to let people know that the exchange and the wallet are in balance, and the market is only frozen until I can get the wallet compiled.

Hey,

Anyone able to provide information on scrypt-sleep functionality?
I've searched on here and cryptocointalk forums to no avail.

We need to work on Gridcoin marketing.  Here's a tweet I wrote for the official twitter or anyone else generous enough to put up the gridcoins.  If people donate gridcoins to me I will host the giveaway.

Example tweet:

"Giving away 1000 Gridcoins! To enter

1) Retweet
2) Make the Gridcoin logo your profile pic

Winner picked March 20"
*attach the picture of the new Gridcoin logo here

I remember Earthcoin doing this and it created A LOT of buzz.

The general idea is that the better your leader board position (ie the more BOINC credits contributed), the more time you are allowed to mine with your GPU.  If your sleep level (leader board position) isn't high enough for the network sleep level, your GPU takes a break from mining and is freed up to run BOINC work, like the Milky Way project.  The network sleep level cycles.

Exchanges: Please halt withdrawals while we track down all GRC addresses with coinbase blocks and missing security information

I contacted C-cex through the support e-mail. Skype, no answer.

Not a problem there. The dang thing doesnt even WORK on or exchange - without standard commands we cannot do a thing anyway.

So it's only based on leaderboard position?
I was under the impression that the more boinc points you contributed the harder it would be for others. Is there more documentation on this scrypt sleep feature?

If you are having problem syncing please download the blockchain from here: http://www.gridcoin.us/images/appdata.zip
extract this zip into your appdata/roaming/gridcoin folder and you should be good to go.
