I am a windows user so everything works ok for me, I wish I could help the linux people, but unfortunately I have never used linux.

Hey guys, are there any working addnodes?  Been trying to setup a Block Explorer for Gridcoin for a little while now and can't get any connections at all.  Tried the following addnodes with no luck...

addnode=www.pgp.mx
addnode=gridcoinweu01.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinweu02.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinneu01.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinneu02.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoineus01.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoineus02.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinwus01.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinwus02.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinea01.cloudapp.net
addnode=gridcoinea02.cloudapp.net
addnode=98.114.181.178
addnode=76.187.184.27
addnode=66.187.94.194
addnode=76.74.177.224
addnode=84.125.196.167
addnode=71.233.139.62

I just did a successful sync only using www.pgp.mx

Make sure you are on the right version or you'll wait forever Tongue

I'm thinking about mining this now that I owe 9600GRC to someone that I can't get back to my wallet Sad  , looks like a pita to setup though.

Still no luck with this, every other coin daemon i have downloaded and installed with the proper addnodes works fine.  Is there some sort of trick for this daemon to run on linux?  0 Connections all the time and the following errors when it does try to connect...

Code:
connected 76.187.184.27:32760
send version message: version 100001, blocks=0, us=107.170.13.110:32760, them=76.187.184.27:32760, peer=76.187.184.27:32760
ba ,,0,CRD_V,SOLO_MINING,GDSHkak7MazgicB7qJ6kocyMoy1nq6pi47,,,,?socket closed
disconnecting node 76.187.184.27:32760
connect() failed after select(): Network is unreachable

Suppose maybe that should be my next question.  Has anyone setup and had the coin daemon connect and sync on linux?  Smiley

What version of the wallet are you running? Newest is 2.1.0.7 and my gues is that you are running 2.1.0.5

need to make installation easier.. really turns people off from this coin
I agree= its being worked right now.  We have already removed 50% of the features, and it is becoming more and more like an iPhone app.
Give us a little time to cross compile it.  Most settings are now automatic.

Tut: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=403734.0

Hi,

Tying to mine this with a 6 GPU rig...Do I have to use the Mining Module? Do i need 1 instance of cgminer for each GPU?
BOINK is open but im unsure if its supposed to be SUSPENDED or not?

Im still confused, can someone help?

Thanks

Thanks alot for not answering any of my doubts :/
That tutorial does not answer any of them.
Is it mandatory to start cgminer through Mining Module?
Do I have to use 1 instance per GPU?

Why do I get a blank page on the GuiMiner tab?

Last time I ask about this coin

I liked GRC and invested quite a bit on it. Slowly bought a bunch at 2700-3000 without anyone noticing and started putting up some buy walls to reinforce my position.
Dont get me wrong. I approached this coin as an investor because I believed in its potential. The whole idea behind the concept was really good until I had my first problems with mining.
You see... as a hardcore miner with thousands invested in rigs, I expect some minor but acceptable problems, bugs, etc...
But what I did not expect was the complete lack of support from some egocentrical lazy ass devs that JUST DON'T CARE.

So, now that the price is where it was.... YES It was me that DUMPED your shitcoin asscoin down from 6000 to 4000 countering all the potential and leaving it as it is...a lifeless example of promise.

Best of all, I didn't even use FUD.

Enjoy and remember!

WE RUN THIS SHIT

I'm sure you have $1000 of cryptocoins to throw around and can pump and dump a coin like the big dogs!  LOL!  From your basement!

Voting on Mintpal is cool, but don't forget to vote on Cryptsy too - now at 1002 votes Smiley

Gridcoin deserves at least Primecoin's market cap but we need exchanges for that to happen!

Sorry guys, we need to de-list gridcoin. We're running version 2000500 and cannot for the life of us get any connections. We've been trying for WEEKS, and no nodes we add work. Not sure if it's because we compiled from the git, or the nodes, or some weird thing that your wallet needs, but it's totally DOA.

If someone manages to get a compiled, working, connected version going under linux, please email me directly, but for now... it's been dead for a month. We can't connect.

Hi,

you do know that you need the special version from the Rob(the dev) himself and that the older ones aren't going to work. We've talked about this more than 2 weeks ago.
Have you tried finding out how to contact him on Github or tried the e-mail I sent you again?

Andrew.

Yeah, I've emailed three times with no response. It's not worth this headache - coins should want to be on an exchange, it shouldnt be the exchange begging the coin for special code.

Which I have a problem with anyway - being private, we have no way to verify it's safety. So even if I did hear back - thats a security issue.

I've been taking care of some issues, and responding to the gridcoin.us inbox and the cryptocointalk inbox.  I have not yet made my rounds to pick up my bitcointalk pms, I apologize if that is where you are sending these messages.

After being attacked, we had to put a system in place to prevent the problem until it is safe to make the repo 100% public.  The code is 100% public, and is on schedule to be released as public during the heartbleed release and the cpuminer release.  The point is, it currently requires your exchange to be a collaborator, or the wallet WILL NOT SYNC.  Notice, I did not suggest that you need a private version or an unsafe version.  You would be a member of the github codebase, and build the actual source.  The only thing we currently require that is different from other coins is the ability to enter an exchange key in the code.  If you are still interested in listing gridcoin, send me a PM with your github username and Ill take care of it.

Best Regards,
Rob

Andrew.

Hi Rob, been trying to build the block explorer for quite a while and you had mentioned to PM my github username to you a week ago.  I sent that PM.  Any chance you can send/authorize my account for the source code so I can complete the project?
