Sorry i just edited my post ,was my mistake for sending the last grc digit:)

BTW does exchange works or what is this guy talking about:

aceypilot :"I was told the payment server is hung-up, and Rob will repair it when he has a chance. "

I noticed someone else has not received their burrned coins. I guess I would wait for now, until Rob answers everything is working fine!

I always hate those coin-switching, when the old coins must be manually exchanged to new ones, so I'm very happy that I'm starting with new wallet at once Smiley Smiley And mining by the Proof of Research is one of the best things in cryptoworld invented ever.

I would reccomend moving them to your classic wallet and burning them yourself.

I think the exchanges will burn the coins they have left at 20th of october. Best to do it yourself though. ITS really easy!

Proof Of Research Block Explorer is up:
http://explorer.gridcoin.us/

Is everything working properly? I had some problems getting synced so I've deleted everything from /.GridcoinResearch just now and syncing again. But:
Block explorer says: Blocks_POR: 1185
My wallet says: downloded 2050 block of 2544 (or 1197 sometimes - do we have a fork??), last block generated 24h ago, wallet stopped syncing. I have about 10 connections.

but you need a chmod +x src/leveldb/build_detect_platform:

/bin/sh: 1: ./build_detect_platform: Permission denied

I think you might be on the old chain. The chain was restarted. Delete everything except wallet and config. Make sure you have the latest build 3.1.6.1 and sync again!

You were right! I had the previous version of wallet. Now it's synced.

Thank you!

Could you explain how the Proof of Research works? I've got boinc on CPUs on 2 machines and it has been working since some days. What could I expect and when?

As I don't mine myself it's hard for me to explain the reward mechanism. If you are crunching for two days now you should expect some payments already.

Are you also reading the CCT forum? Im sure you could get more answers there.

http://wiki.gridcoin.us/Main_Page#Gridcoin_Research_Reward_Calculation

Also read this I hope it answers your questions.

I'm in this loop for 3 hours:

10/14/2014 08:54:54 Starting globalcom...
10/14/2014 08:55:04 Status UpdateBlank cpid suppliedNote: HTTP Page returned blank from netsoft for
10/14/2014 08:55:06 socket no message in first 60 seconds, 0 1
10/14/2014 08:55:06 disconnecting node 71.252.157.251:32749
10/14/2014 08:55:07 connected 71.252.157.251:32749
10/14/2014 08:55:07 send version message: version 180101, blocks=0, us=2.228.50.34:32749, them=71.252.157.251:32749, peer=71.252.157.251:32749

so I reset the blockchain by removing the files and start again, same loop.

EDIT1: now it started downloading blocks, will report if it syncs fine to the end.
EDIT2: yes it finally synced!
EDIT3: stuck again and only getting orphan blocks! :-(
