Dwolla and CampBx had announced around October 10 that effective October 28, Dwolla would no longer be providing service to CampBx for deposits or withdrawals (as part of Dwolla's general cut-off of service to Bitcoin exchanges etc.).

But starting October 18, there was some kind of a bug that caused attempts to withdraw from CampBx to Dwolla to fail. So, some of us have been waiting since October 18 to be able to withdraw funds via Dwolla.

Does Dwolla plan on extending their deadline to give CampBx users time to withdraw their money to Dwolla after fixing the bug? Or are users out of luck with Dwolla, since it is now after October 28?

Thanks!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Fortunately, I didn't go through with the withdrawal when I saw the warning message around October 20; I've just been patiently waiting since then for Dwolla to get fixed so I could do my withdrawal. But since CampBx had the message up about the bug in Dwolla affecting withdrawals from October 18 up until yesterday, and was still listing Dwolla as a withdrawal option on their website as late as yesterday (the 29th), I hoped that maybe they were going to fix the bug affecting Dwolla withdrawals and then give people a day or two to do their withdrawals before cutting off Dwolla service, since we lost what were supposed to be our last 10 days to withdraw via Dwolla. But now I just logged into CampBx, and see they no longer even list Dwolla as a withdrawal option. So I guess they went straight from displaying the message "Dwolla is having a bug, you should wait fot them to fix it" to just removing Dwolla completely.

I had a similar problem, contacted CampBX and they told me to do an ACH transfer instead.   I did that and it was done I the same two days as Dwolla would have taken.  The only difference is the $2 fee.

Get over Dwolla and use CampBX ACH directly as Dwolla does not want our business.

I find it odd that they claim the BTC related transactions only accounted for 1% of their overall business.

I find that VERY hard to believe, especially when Dwolla was working with MtGox.

Maybe they lie.

"The company says it's on pace to process around $1 billion in transactions this year."

1% of that would be $10 Million

"Last week, Dwolla took a big step towards expanding the utility of its network with the introduction of Dwolla Credit. Backed by billions from Comenity Capital Bank, the service allows Dwolla users to sign up for a virtual credit card that works just like traditional Visa or Mastercard, but doesn’t levy the same 2 to 3 percent fees on every transaction. Instead, Dwolla charges a flat rate: free for purchases under $10 and 25 cents for anything over that. Because Dwolla knows both the buyer and seller, users can apply for the line of credit and, if approved, start using it instantly. Depending on the customer’s credit rating their limit may be anywhere between $1,000 and $12,000."
